BLUE OVAL OFFICE Gary Nenninger Editor Glory, Awards, and Surprise! S ince the last issue of the Falcon Times we have had Awards, Suprises, and even some glory. To be more specific, we are looking at the Northeast Chapter Regional Meet winners glory, the chapters newsletter receiving an Old Cars Weekly Golden Quill Award, and the surprise of the Northeast Chapter hosting the 2015 Falcon Club of America s National Convention in the state of Road Island. For the first time in this newsletter we have pictures of all 1 st place class winners, most with the cars owners. We were able to do this do to the fact that we gave out the awards in the afternoon. Look for coverage in Club Buiseness and Feathered Friends. There is also more pictures on the chapter web site www.northeastchapter.com. You will find more information on the Golden Quill Award in Club Buiseness. The surprise of hosting the FCA Nationals is quite a thrill. This will be the second time the Northeast Chapter has hosted a FCA National and for members who were not in the club for the Cromwell, CT Convention or if you have never attended a FCA National you will find it to be something special. We will be looking for members to volunteres for committies and general help. Look for convention news through the newsletter, web site and other communications to keep you posted. On a personal note the 50 th birthday party for my Sprint, went well. besides the Northeast Chapter members in attendance were members of the Connecticut Street Rod Association, the Radical Valve Timers Hot Rod Club, friend, family and a town concile member. I will have coverage in the next issue and pictures on the web-site. The Falcon Times by e-mail If you would like to have, your copy of The Falcon Times e-mailed to you rather than regular mail, please send your e-mail address to gnenninger@comcast.net it would save the club money on printing and mailing costs (and the world trees) and greatly appreciated by all. Please think about it! 2

The discussion involved the many things that will have to be done and by who. Patti Lindberg volunteered to chair the Women s Tea Party. She is excited and really wants to do this. Kathy and Cris volunteered to do the Registration and other things. We will be looking for more member volunteers to chair and work on projects/events. A list of things that will need volunteers will be posted on the web site and in the newsletter. This will be the Northeast Chapters second time hosting a National Falcon Club of America Convention. Kathy Nenninger Congratulations Northeast Chapter Members! The editors of Old Cars Weekly honor The Falcon Times with a Golden Quill Award in the Regional/Compact Category. I would like to thank all the members who contributed to the newsletter for their help. In addition, to all members who have not as of yet, this is your chance to be part of a nationally recognized publication. We cannot do it alone. Gary 4

FEATHERED FRIENDS AND THE WINNERS ARE! By Gary Nenninger Photography by Carl Waters T he 18 th Annual Northeast Chapter Regional Meet took place at the Sturbridge Host Hotel in Sturbridge MA on August 23-24, 2013. The weather was perfect with no chance of rain to spoil our day. As usual, Mike Repucci was on hand to handle the announcements and DJ duties. There were a number of first time entries at the show and they were excellent Falcon examples. A large group of previous Best of Show winners was on hand displaying their beauty and waiting to greet the two new members that were to join them by day s end. This year was a departure from the normal banquet on Saturday night instead we had an outdoor barbeque after the awards ceremony. With Bruce and Gail Ahlquist winning their 3 rd Best of Show award in the past six years I think we should rename it the Ahlquist Award! Congratulations to the Ahlquist and to Ed and June Veader for their outstanding 63 Sprint. BEST OF SHOW WINNERS 8
