1 BHEL LADIES CLUB, JHANSI 1- CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS OF CLUB CONSTITUTION (1) General Body Wives of executives or lady executives themselves are eligible to become a member. Monthly subscription for members will be Rs. 50/- as of today which will be increased by Rs. 10/- every two years. (2) Executive Body / Committee Wife of the head of the unit will be the President of the club. One or two Vice-Presidents will either be nominated by the President or elected by the Executive Body, if the president so desires. The club will be governed by an Executive Body. There will be a General Secretary, Joint Secretary and a Treasurer to assist the President. They will be nominated by the President in consultation with the Vice- President. The number of members of the Executive Body will be decided by the President. Executive Body members can either be nominated by the President or elected by the General Body on the discretion of the President. Allocation of portfolios of the club to the Executive Body will be done by the President In consultation with the Vice President. The activities of the club are grouped under two wings :- I. Social Wing II. Welfare Wing

2 Social Wing :- consists of - Cultural - Catering - Dance class - Play centre - Beauty Parlor and Training Centre Welfare Wing :- consists of - Masala Centre - Milk Booth & Ice-cream Parlor - Computer Training Centre - Gyanodaya - Gas Service - Petrol Pump - Stitching Centre Each of the above mentioned wings will be looked after by an in-charge assisted by a secretary, a treasurer and one or two executives. The appointment of in-charges and assisting committee will be done by the President in consultation with the Vice President. The in-charges will generally be the wives of senior officers. Executive body member ceases to be executive on retirement of her husband or herself or on transfer of her husband although wives of retired officers or retired lady officers may remain members of the general body of the club, if they so desire.

3 (3) Meetings Meeting of the Executive Body will be held every month. The General Body shall meet once every month. Minutes of the Executive Body meeting will be maintained by General Secretary and Joint Secretary in separate registers. The register must include Constitution and a list of Executive Body/ Committee Members. (4) Traditions a) Farewell Farewell will be given to member who leaves the club on transfer or on retirement, amount is paid by ladies club(amount to around 700/-) Farewell to any member of the Executive Body shall be given by the Executive Body also. For this, the contribution of Rs. 150/- will be collected from each member of the executive body for the gift and the party contribution will be subject to charge. Farewell to the departing president and Vice-presidents shall be given by the executive body and general body separately. A gift of around Rs. 5000/- shall be presented to them. Farewell shall also be given to the departing head of the unit by the General Body of the club and a gift of Rs. 1000/- will be presented.

4 b) GIFT Each member is given birthday gift, new year gift and anniversary Card All the members of executive body are given token gift at the end of the year for their all the year contribution. The gift of Rs 1000/- ( This amount is subject to change ). ( 5) Activities Medals to Meritorious students Meritorious students of class X and XII of the two schools, Bhel Shiksha Niketan and St. Xavier s School in BHEL premises will be awarded with Silver medals in presence of their parents. Uniforms, shirts, scarfs and woolen sweaters worth Rs. 1500/- will be distributed to needy children of Bhel Shiksha Niketan (Junior section) in the month of October. Scholarship or monthly fee will be given to needy children of BHEL township who are studying in Bhel Shiksha Niketan on the basis of merit. This will be to totally selected by gyanodaya samiti. (If medals or anything are to be awarded it will be decided by executive body and president.) At least one child or may be two children of BMKS employees will be given Monthly fees by gyanodaya samiti.

5 (6) Competition To bring more participation of members and for their personality growth Cooking, Salad decoration and Flower Arrangement competition will be held apart from other competitions. The first three winners will be given 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes. All other participants will also be given token gifts. Token gifts shall be given per participants & not per entry. Prizes & gifts shall be given on the spot. The present budget for the prizes of competitions will be:- 1. For Cooking, Salad Decoration and Flower Arrangement (the amount is subject to change) 1st prize - Rs. 100/- to Rs. 120/- 2nd prize - Rs. 70/- to Rs. 85/- 3rd prize - Rs. 40/- to Rs. 60/- 2. For other Competitions ( the amount is subject to change) 1st prize - Rs. 70/- to Rs. 85/- 2nd prize - Rs. 40/- to Rs. 60/- 3rd prize - Rs. 30/- to Rs. 40/- 3. The President, Vice-President and General Secretary shall be present at the time of introduction of presentation 4. Judges for the competitions will be decided by the President, Vice-Presidents and General Secretary and the judges will be notified about the rules of the competition. The decision of judges will be final. 5. A present of Rs. 100/- shall be given to each of the judges of the competition. (amount is subject to change) 6. There shall be an overall winner decided based on the results of all the competitions, who shall be presented with a running trophy in case of hat-trick by an individual i.e. when same individual wins the trophy for three consecutive years, the trophy will be given to the individual and new running trophy instituted.

6 (7) Functions a) Following functions will be celebrated by the club i. Teej ii. iii. iv. Janmashtami Children s Day Holi b) Following functions will be organised by the club annually I. Deepawali Mela :- This will be organised jointly with Club Bundela around diwali time II. III. IV. Movie Picnic Husband s Nite V. Fruits and other gifts distribution in hospital to patients and in the adopted village Simrawari on Republic Day and Independence Day as a part of the celebration of these festivals. VI. Organising Family Planning operation camps and other medical camps as a part of social welfare activity for the benefit of nearby population. VII. Annual Function :- This shall be held in end of april or beginning of may and will mark the end of a term.
