SALAR JUNG MUSEUM HYDERABAD No.SJM /Appt. to the post of Director /Advt.1/Recruitment Corr. 2015 Sub: Filling up the post of Director, (General Central Services, Group A Non-Ministerial) in Pay Band-4, Rs.37,400-67,000, Grade Pay Rs.10,000/-by Deputation (including short term contract), failing which by Direct Recruitment in the Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad. Applications are invited from the citizens of India for the post of Director, Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad in the corresponding Pay Band in P.B.4 i.e. Rs. 37,400-67,000 plus Grade Pay Rs.10,000 plus usual allowances. The method of Recruitment to the post of Director is by Deputation (including short term contract), failing which by Direct Recruitment. The period of probation for the post of Director in the Salar Jung Museum is two years in respect of direct recruitment. (A).Educational and other qualifications for direct recruitment 1 Essential (i) (a) A Master s degree from a recognized University; in Museology/History of Arts/Fine Arts/Archeology/History /Conservation/Chemistry/Persian/Arabic. With (b) 10 years experience of working in a reputed Museum/Cultural Institution/University, out of which 5 years experience should be in Administration as the Head of the Museum/Institution/University Department. For Academicians (ii) Professors in the Pay Band Rs.37400-67000 with a Grade pay of Rs.10,000 and possessing the qualification and teaching /research experience in any of the subjects mentioned in (i) (a) and experience as in (i) (b) above. Or Two years regular service as Associate Professor in the Pay Band of Rs.37,000-67,000 with a Grade pay of Rs.9,000 and possessing the qualification and teaching /research experience in any one of the subjects mentioned in (i) (a) and experience in as (i) (b) above. 2. Desirable (a) Experience in Museum Administration and Management. -2-

(b) Computer Knowledge (M. S. Office). (c) Degree in Museology. Note 1:- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Appointing Authority on the recommendations of the Selection Committee/DPC, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. Note 2:- The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the Selection Committee / DPC in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the selection committee/dpc is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. (B) Age limit: Not exceeding 50 years. Relaxation in age limit applicable as per the extant orders of the Govt. of India. Note:- The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul & Spiti district and Pangi Sub- Division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep) For deputation (including short term contract) Grades from which deputation will be made (a) Officers under the Central/ State Governments/ Recognized Universities and Recognized Research Institutions/Statutory Organizations/ Autonomous bodies. (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis, in the Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000 with grade pay Rs. 10,000. Or With 2 years regular service in the posts in the Pay band Rs.37400-67000 with grade pay Rs.8,900. Or -3-

With 3 years regular service in the posts in the Pay band Rs.37400-67000 with grade pay Rs.8,700. (b) For Academicians (i) Professors in the Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000 with Grade pay Rs.10, 000. Or 2 Years regular service as Associate Professor in the Pay Band Rs.37, 400-67,000 with Grade pay Rs.9,000. And (ii) Possessing the educational and other qualifications/ experience prescribed as mentioned for direct recruitment at (A) above.. Note 1:- Period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed five years. Note 2:- The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding 54 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications. Note 3:- For the purpose of appointment on deputation on absorption basis the service rendered on a regular basis by an officer prior to 1-1-2006 (the date from which revised pay structure based on Sixth Central Pay Commission recommendation has been extended) shall be deemed to be service rendered in the corresponding Grade Pay or Pay Scale extended basis on the recommendations of the Commission except where there has been merger of more than one pre revised Scale of Pay into one grade with a common Grade Pay or Pay Scale, and when where this benefit will extend only for the post(s) for which the Grade Pay or Pay Scale in the normal replacement grade without any up gradation.
