The Aceh and Nias Case 800 km x 1 to 6km destroyed 120.000 Houses destroyed 70.000 Houses damaged 14 Sea ports destroyed or damaged 120 Bridges damaged 3.000 km Roads damaged or impassable 1.052 Government buildings damaged 2.000 School buildings damaged 167.228 Students lost their schools 2.500 Teachers died 114 Health centers destroyed or damaged 20.000 Fish ponds damaged 60.000 ha Agriculture land damaged 100.000 Small and medium entrepreneurs lost business Legal and policy framework The 2004 tsunami was a wake up call to build better and more integrated preparedness, risk reduction and risk management that prevent DM actors works in silo environment and refuse to talk to each other, while the safety of the people mandated to them by constitution and laws Enhanced DM legal aspects, planning and budgeting at the national level At sub-national level, provincial, districts/cities administration utilize the national DM system as basis to develop their administration capacity in DM inline with national decentralization law and policy azard areas signage The 2004 tsunami lead the way to the strengthening of Indonesia DM policy and regulation ined sirene 2

The Annual International Workshop and Expo on Sumatra Tsunami Disaster and Recovery (AIWEST) by ITB and Unsyah, 22-24 th October 2014 3. International Seminar held respectively by BMKG, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and National Agency for application of Technology 4. The series of activities in Aceh, from 25 until December 28, 2014 include, Recitation and Prayers, Meditations 10th anniversary of the tsunami, disaster exhibitions, art and cultural performances and tsunami run 10 K race. 5. Activities carried out by, among others Seminar by NDMO of 10 years Tsunami date October 14 in Bengkulu, the preparation of the book "10-year journey tsunami" and Exhibition 10 tsunami in Jakarta. 6. And several other activities such as the revitalization of the tsunami museum by UNESCO, the publication of research results and prototype tsunami by LIPI, etc. 4
