This convention is our annual general meeting and gathering of the affiliations to support our mission statement, empowering women in leadership, service and spirituality. We will have as our keynote speaker Jane Carter, Past Leadership Commissioner for National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW). We will celebrate Mass with The Most Rev. Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of Palm Beach. Installation of newly elected Palm Beach Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Executive Officers. Honoring our Outstanding Leaders in each of the Deaneries and bestow the Palm Beach Diocesan Woman of Council Award. Scholarship awards to three deserving young women in our Diocese will also be presented at the Friday evening banquet. We are asking that you promote the Convention by inviting all of the women in your affiliation to attend and to bring someone new for the experience. We ask once again for your support in contributing an ad from your council, local business or others in your community. Convention renews friendships across the Deaneries and it is an affordable way to have some fun, R&R and learn more about our organization. We need your full support in making this convention a success! An Affiliation of the National Council of Catholic Women MEMBER NOMINATION FORM & GUIDELINES For 2017 OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AWARD PBDCCW will recognize one member of council who is an exceptional leader. One who reflects dedication and commitment to her affiliation and/or deanery. The intent is to empower members of an affiliation and/or deanery to make a difference either individually or through team effort. The Outstanding Leadership Award is given annually to one person in each deanery. The committee: PBDCCW President, PBDCCW Leadership Chairman, the three Deanery Presidents and the Diocesan Spiritual Advisor will select the Recipient. An Affiliate of the National Council of Catholic Women TO: FROM: RE: PBDCCW Board Members and AFFILIATION PRESIDENTS Barbara Lutton, President, PBDCCW Convention Voting Card Guidelines Our Convention will be held June 2-3, 2017 at the Hilton Palm Beach Airport, 150 Australian Ave., West Palm Beach, Florida 33406. The business of PBDCCW is conducted during a business session. Some of the business will require voting, therefore it is important to have an accurate record of the voting delegates. Voting cards are issued as per our By-Laws, Article XVI, Section 4, and must be completed and returned with the convention Registration Form. Each member of the Diocesan Board of Directors and each organization having membership in the Council shall be entitled to one vote on matters coming before the Annual Meeting. The organizations having membership are the affiliations that have paid their Diocesan dues. The voting cards for the affiliations are issued with the names of the current Presidents. If the President named on the voting card will not be voting on behalf of the affiliation for any reason (completion of term of office, unable to attend Convention, etc.), the affiliation vote may be assigned to another person. The cards should be signed over to the member who will be voting on behalf of the affiliation. The votes of the Diocesan Board Members may not be assigned. Please complete the voting card and return it with the Convention Registration Form. The voting card will be signed by the voting delegate at Registration and issued for use during the voting session. It is important for each voting delegate to have her card with her during all business sessions, or her vote will not be counted.
