WFTV CHANNEL 9 AND ABC WIN BIG IN NOVEMBER SWEEPS For Immediate Release 11/23/2011 Fall means we turn back our clocks, the temperatures start to drop and WFTVonce again dominates the November rating period. Channel 9 Eyewitness Newscontinues to be the preferred source for local news in Central Florida, delivering 39%of all available news viewers, and ABC delivered ratings victories with Good Morning America and various prime time programs. This year the competition for local news viewers has been intense, commented WFTV General Manager and Vice President Shawn Bartelt. What separates Eyewitness News from other local stations is our dedication to investigative stories that make a difference in the lives of our viewers. In November our investigations exposed how local companies took advantage of federal grants designed to create jobs; revealed how local drivers pay more for car insurance based on their education and job; and how power companies are charging hidden fees that cost each user more than $100 dollars a year, she continued. It doesn t end there. Other Eyewitness News investigations also exposed an $8 million dollar state budget blunder; uncovered local welfare recipients using their benefits in liquor stores and theme parks instead of providing food and clothing for their families; and discovered that insured patients pay more for medical services than the uninsured. While final results for the November Nielsen survey will not be available until November 24 th, after 27 of the 28 days of the sweep have been counted, WFTVwonevery news time periodwith households, adults 25-54 and adults 18+.
