North Carolina Division Convention Call 120 th Annual Convention October 5 8, 2016 TO: NC Division Chapter Presidents FROM: Division IV, Convention Hostess and NC Division President As many of you are returning from your summer breaks, it is important that you inform your chapter members of the NC Division Convention scheduled Wednesday, October 5 through Saturday, October 8, 2016. Please make each member aware of the deadlines for registration, hotel room reservations, meal reservations, etc. as many of these may occur before you resume your regular schedule in the fall. Feel free to make additional copies if necessary. Voting body of the Division Convention shall consist of all Division Officers, Ex-Division Presidents, dues paying Honorary Division Presidents, Committee Chairmen, District Directors, Chapter Presidents and duly elected Chapter Delegates. All UDC members are encouraged to attend the Executive Board Meeting and Business Sessions. Guests are welcome to attend non-business functions, including Memorial Service, Welcome Evening Banquet, Friendship Luncheon, Historical Evening and Bestowal of Military Service Awards Ceremony and Reception. Convention badges must be worn at all Business Meetings. CONVENTION HOTEL: Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons and Joseph S. Koury Convention Center, 3121 W. Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27407-4615. Reservations must be made directly with the hotel at 336 292-9161 or toll free 1-800-325-3535 or through the Division website www.ncudc.org. You must state that you are with the United Daughters of the Confederacy to receive the convention rate of $120 Single/Double + tax. There is onsite complimentary parking. Check in 3:00 PM and Check Out 12:00 Noon. RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BY, September 5, 2016 to secure the convention rate. BOOK EARLY!!! After that date room rates revert to regular hotel rates. If you need a handicapped accessible room please make your request when you registrar. Items will be set up in Imperial A&B. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will be determined by the Convention. CHAPTER SCRAPBOOKS, PRESSBOOKS, YEARBOOKS, NEWSLETTERS: Chapter Scrapbooks, Press books, Yearbooks and Newsletters should be delivered to Imperial A&B to be displayed during the Convention. Items to be judged for Division awards must be in the hands of the Division Historian, Melanie Perryman, by the end of the Welcome Evening Banquet, Thursday, October 6, 2016. Items may be retrieved from Imperial A&B following the close of the Second Business Session on Friday, October 7 th at 4:00 PM. Recommendations from the Nominating Committee will appear in the September issue of the NC Division Newsletter, The Confederate Courier. Additional nominations may be made from the floor of the convention with the consent of the nominee.
