That loss still smarts. After working as a staff assistant for Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison following college, she moved to London where she worked on the 2010 General Election for the Conservatives and then ran the office of a Conservative Member of Parliament. Upon returning to Dallas in 2013, she began working for the Dallas County Republican Party as the Elections Administrator. Dallas County holds the second largest primary election in Texas and every polling location was filled with a Republican election judge (a feat that cannot be claimed by the Dallas County Democrats!) She currently serves as Communications Director. Along with her duties with DCRP, she serves as the Campaign Coordinator for the Dallas County Council of Republican Women and volunteers at community engagement events on behalf of DCRP. When she is not working for the Party, she is exploring taco places in Dallas with her husband Michael and grooming her one year old daughter, Margaret for her 2056 Presidential run. at our September 9, 2014 meeting Our speaker will be announced. President s Message I hope that all of you are having a wonderful summer and not wilting in the heat. We have had a relatively cool summer so far and I hope that you have taken advantage of the slight break in temperatures to walk your precinct for the Dallas County Republican Ticket! If the heat we are having is still a bit too hot, then there is fully air conditioned phone banking at the Victory Center every day! If you are feeling like I am a broken record about phone banking and block walking, please know that I feel like one. The only reason that I talk about it every month? Because it works. When the Republicans changed the landscape of American politics and took back the House of Representatives in 2010, it didn't happen because people woke up one day and decided to be more involved, it happened because of Grassroots efforts like phone baking and block walking. We spend a great deal of time talking about and listening to great leaders, but we have only three months to go before November and it is time to stop talking and start working. Everyone wants to do different things, so find something that you can do. If you have a precinct chair, call him or her and ask if you can help walk a few streets in your area. There is nothing that is worthless and nothing too small. The County races in Dallas will be decided with a razor slim margin and what you do will make a difference. So get out and talk to people about our great candidates. They are working so hard so that you will be better represented at all levels of government, so do what you can to help them! See you on the campaign trail! Andrea Debbie Georgatos is on the Radio On July 27 Debbie Georgatos began hosting a one hour radio show starting at 7:00 a.m. on 660 AM KSKY. The program is called "Ladies, Can We Talk?" This is the same station at currently brings us Sean Hannity, Bill Bennett, Mark Davis and others to the DFW market. When the opportunity presented itself, Debbie knew she had to say "Yes" in order to do whatever she could to save America from the unbelievable assault we are facing. This program is targeted to intelligent and informed women like RW members. Debbie's goal is to look back in a year and know that a statement has been made about the power of activism of conservative Texas women (and men too!) After moving with her family to Dallas in 2000, she began serving on boards of Republican women s organizations, in countless political activities and rallies, and as a volunteer and later paid political consultant for conservative candidates. Debbie is the author of Ladies, Can We Talk? America Needs Our Vote! She says she wrote it to inspire women to embrace conservative political ideals, and to encourage women to recognize that they have tremendous political power to shape America s future. The Wade Emmert Show is on 660AM The Answer 660AM has been adding to an already great lineup of conservative thinkers with the addition of Mark Davis and, in January, Sean Hannity. The Wade Emmert Show brings a live and local focus to the weekend lineup. The show is 2 hours so it can bring you more talk with thought-leaders and newsmakers around the state. The Wade Emmert Show is on 660AM The Answer Sunday evenings from 6 PM to 8 PM. Contributions are not federal tax deductible as charitable contributions. Encourage club members to attend the September NFRW Board meeting in Dallas. from the National Federation of Republican Women The National Federation of Republican Womenʼs 2014 Annual Board of Directors Meeting is scheduled for September 18-20, 2014, at the Grand Hyatt DFW at DFW Airport in Dallas, Texas. In addition to important updates on the midterm elections, our meeting will feature two of the GOPʼs rising stars who will discuss the millennials, a key demographic group that is an important part of the young voting public. Deb Sofield, who was a hit at the Leadership School during our 2013 convention in Louisville, will join us again in Dallas. Deb is renowned for her informative, inspirational and fun presentations. All three speakers have written books which will be available to attendees who want to pick up insightful reading material for themselves or fellow club members. You also will learn more about the NFRWʼs new database system, currently under development, which will allow us to better reach, inform and educate our members. In addition, the board will select the site of the 2017 NFRW convention. The two cities bidding on the convention will be announced later this summer. For your consideration, an optional side trip is available. The Texas Federation of Republican Women has arranged buses to take interested board attendees to the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum on Saturday afternoon. Entrance tickets cost just $10 and can be purchased when you register for the board meeting. The midterm elections are critical. I know your time and money are in short supply, but I hope you are able to find a little extra of both to attend the NFRW board meeting in Dallas. See you in September!
