ASUM SENATE MINUTES Gold Oak Room Aprl 26, 989 6:00 pm Charman Long called the meetng to order at 6:0 pm Senators present were Behr, Bernardn, Burrngton, Bars, D Angelo, Dahlberg, Farbanks, Ga, Henderson, Lotfpour, Perce, Pounc, Prce, Sebald, Slter, Smth, Solem, Warden, Wlknson, Young, Alsworth, Cate and Ex-offco Fsher Approval of Mnutes The mnutes of Aprl 9, 989 were approved as wrtten Presdent's Report 2 Alsworth ntroduced Ken Stolz Stolz nformed the Senators that negotatons about the parkng spaces around the Unverst are beng worked out wth the home owners Susan Matule, home owner and staff representatve wll open up around 50 parkng spaces n the resdental area around the Unverst Helen and Hlda are the streets to be opened up Stolz asked the Senators to send a letter to the maor and ct councl n support of the new plan Ken Wllet added that 208 spaces wll be constructed 3 Alsworth ntroduced Frank Feld Feld asked the Senators to volunteer ther tme to answer phones for Publc Rado Week from Ma 8-4 Feld gave each Senator a volunteer sgn up sheet Feld can be contacted at 243-3834 or 243-424 4 Alsworth ntroduced Abdullah Fara Fara reported that Internatonal week wll take place from Ma 5-2 There wll be an nternatonal banquet and far on Frda The week's events wll cost $0 for general publc, $9 for students, and $6 wth a meal pass Tckets can be purchased through the Foregn Student Offce and the Bookstore 5 Alsworth ntroduced Rch Dole from the Free Speech Proect Dole reported that a mcrophone wll probabl be provded ever two weeks n the UC - Lbrar Mall from am to pm Ths wll allow people to dscuss an ssue Dole wll report to the Senate agan next week 6 Alsworth reported that the Board of Regents wll meet Ma 4th and 5th Plan nclude talkng to the new MSU Presdent and preparng for the specal sesson Vce Presdent's Report 7 Long reported that ASUM needs Senators to talk to legslators encouraged the Senators to talk to Greg Van Tghem He 8 Cate - Prce motoned to appont Carson Burrngton and Abe Abromson to the Health Servce Commttee Upon vote, moton passed
