Who can apply (1)? Who can apply? - Ba and Ma graduates from a Dutch university (of applied sciences) - PhD graduates from a Dutch university - postgraduates (course duration min. 12 months!) in the Netherlands - scientific researchers
Who can apply (2)? Who can apply? - graduates of specific cultural policy programmes; development cooperation policy programmes or an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course - Ma graduates, postgraduates or PhD graduates to a foreign top 200 university
Advantages Search year Aim: to find a job as a highly skilled migrant in the Netherlands When: up to three years after graduation, promotion or completion of the scientific research How often: several times, after completion of each other study, promotion or research
During the Search year (1) No restrictions: every (temporary) job; internships (paid or unpaid) No work permit (TWV) needed No obligation to meet a standard amount (means of support) Residence permit valid during 1 year only (no extension possible)
During the Search year (2) Please note: You are entitled to family reunion: applicable standard amount has to be met You are not entitled to social security/social services If you have found a (temporary) job: you have to take out a Dutch public healthcare insurance
Congratulations! You have found a job as a highly skilled migrant! - your employer should be admitted to the highly skilled migrants arrangement (public register: www.ind.nl) - your employer must apply for your residence permit - you are eligible for the reduced salary criterion ( 2.228)* - no work permit (TWV) needed - validity permit: for the duration of your assignment or labour agreement. *As from 1 st January 2016: gross per month, excluding 8% holiday pay
How to apply for the Search year permit? - For all conditions and application forms see: www.ind.nl/en/work - Application by post or IND-desk (in the Netherlands) - Copy Dutch diploma or statement declaration completion study from the educational institute - The necessary fee ( 622) has to be paid before the application is handled
Start-up Create a business based on an innovative product or service under the guidance of an experienced mentor (facilitator): - your product or service is new to the Netherlands - innovative technology - sustainability - socially innovative
Start-up : how does it work? (1) You need a facilitator: - registered at the Chamber of Commerce - reliable - experienced in guiding entrepreneurs You need to register at the Chamber of Commerce and a step-bystep plan: - your innovative product or service - your plans for the coming year - your own role in your company
Start-up : how does it work? (2) You need an agreement between yourself and the facilitator : - signed by both parties - how will the facilitator be guiding you? - the facilitor is not allowed to have a majority stake in your company
Start-up : conditions residence permit - you have to meet the standard amount (means of support) - the agreement - the step-by-step plan - necessary fees ( 311) have to paid in advance Your plans will be assessed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The IND bases its judgement on the recommendation of NEA/RVO The residence permit is granted for 1 year only. After that you can apply for the residence permit (to work on a self-employed basis)
