Mohonasen Central School District Minutes of Meeting of the Board of Education Monday, December 7, 2015, Farnsworth Technology Center Call to Order Roll Call Executive Session The Board meeting was called to order by the President, Mr. Piccirillo, at 6:00 PM. Mr. Piccirillo requested those present to stand and join in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Board Members Present: Dominic Cafarelli, Nancy del Prado, Lisa Gaglioti, Robert Piccirillo, Chad McFarland and Pamela Young Board Members Absent: Patrick Ryan Administrators Present: Dr. Kathleen Spring, Chris Ruberti, and Lisa Cutting MOTION made by Mrs. del Prado, seconded by Mr. Cafarelli, that an executive session be convened for the purpose of discussing contract negotiations. The motion was passed MOTION made by Mrs. Gaglioti, seconded by Ms. Young, that the executive session be adjourned at 7:00 PM. The motion was passed unanimously, six members present and voting. Return to Public Session Roll Call Communications Superintendent Student Representative The public session was called to order by the President, Mr. Piccirillo, at 7:08 PM. Board Members Present: Dominic Cafarelli, Nancy del Prado, Lisa Gaglioti, Chad McFarland, Robert Piccirillo, and Pamela Young Board Members Absent: Patrick Ryan Administrators Present: Dr. Kathleen Spring, Chris Ruberti, Lisa Cutting, Karla Empie, Lisa Patierne, Brian Shaffer, Timothy Hulihan, Scott Hays, Michele Whitley, Laurel Jones, Makensie Bullinger, Kathryn McTiernan, Diane McIver and Matthew Stein Others in Attendance: Christopher Miller and John Burrows (Student Representatives), and 1 faculty member Dr. Spring had no reports for this meeting. Mr. Christopher Miller reported on the recent openings of all the bathrooms in the high school. Mr. John Burrows talked about the success of the Semi-Formal which was held at the Light House and commended Diane Blinn for her help and use of the profits for good cause. He also reported on Peers for Peace and talked about some of the events they do through this organization. Mr. Miller reported on Make-A-Wish stars being sold at Mohonasen s Trading Post. Emma, a five year old from Niskayuna, is one of the Make-A-Wish star recipients

Emma s mother is an employee here at Mohonasen in the specially disabled rooms, adding a more personal touch to Emma s star. Mr. Miller mentioned that he is currently working on a committee called, Speak- Out. This is a student committee based on helping to give students more of a voice in school to speak to administrators about problems or ideas. No Comments were made. Request for Approval and Arrangement of Committee on Special Education Recommendations and Student Placements and Committee on Pre-School Special Education MOTION made by Mrs. del Prado, seconded by Mr. Cafarelli, that the Board of Education approve and arrange for the recommendations of the Committee on Special Education and Committee on Pre-School Special Education for meetings held on October 23, November 18, 19, 23, and 30, 2015. The motion was passed Request Approval for Mohonasen Percussion Ensemble to Participate in the in Various Competitions MOTION made by Mr. McFarland, seconded by Ms. Young, that the Board of Education approve the Mohonasen Percussion Ensemble to participate in the following competitions: Saturday, March 5, 2016 Stratford, Connecticut Saturday, March 26, 2016 Old Bridge, New Jersey Saturday, April 2, 2016 Fair Lawn, New Jersey Sunday, April 24, 2016 Bethlehem, Pennsylvania The motion was passed Request Approval for Mohonasen/Draper Winter Color Guard to Participate in Various Competitions MOTION made by Mrs. Gaglioti, seconded by Mr. Cafarelli, that the Board of Education approve the Mohonasen Winter Color Guard participation in the following competitions: Saturday, January 23, 2016 Sherburne, New York Saturday, January 30, 2016 New Hartford, New York Saturday, February 13, 2016 Laurens, New York Friday & Saturday, February 19-20, 2016 Rochester, New York Saturday, March 12, 2016 Johnstown, New York Saturday, March 12, 2016 Endicott, New York Saturday, April 2, 2016 Cicero, North Syracuse Sunday, April 3, 2016 Cicero, North Syracuse Wednesday-Saturday, April 6-9 Dayton, Ohio The motion was passed

The motion was passed with five members voting yes and with Mrs. del Prado opposing. Request Approval of Agreement with Independent Consultant for Professional Development Services MOTION made by Mrs. del Prado, seconded by Mr. Cafarelli, that the Board of Education approve the agreement with the independent consultant listed below to provide professional development services to the Mohonasen Central School District. Program(s) Instructor(s) Rate Teaching with Poverty in Mind Lynne Ogren Not to exceed $600 The motion was passed Approval of Benetech, Inc. as Third Party Administrator for Flexible Benefit Spending Plan Acceptance of Uncollected tax Report Approval of Renewal Agreement with Access Compliance for Medical Services for 1/1/16-12/31/18 Approval of Health and Welfare Contract with Guilderland Central School District Request Approval of the Benetech, Inc. as Third Party Administrator for the Flexible Spending Plan MOTION made by Mrs. Gaglioti, seconded by Mr. Cafarelli, that the Board of Education authorize the Superintendent to enter into an agreement with Benetech, Inc. as Third Party Administrator for the term of January 1, 2016 December 31, 2016 at a continued cost of $4.10 per participant / per month. The motion was passed Request for Acceptance of Uncollected Tax Report MOTION made by Mrs. del Prado, seconded by Mr. McFarland, that the Board of Education accept the Uncollected Tax Report as follows: Rotterdam $1,068,019.58 Guilderland $62,100.02 Colonie $68,649.56 The motion was passed Request for Approval to Enter into a Renewal Agreement with Access Compliance to Perform Medical Services for the period January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2018 MOTION made by Mr. Cafarelli, seconded by Ms. Young, that the Board of Education authorize the renewal agreement with Access Compliance for the period of January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018 at a fee of $7,200 per year, plus other services requested by the District. The motion was passed Request for Approval of Health and Welfare Contract with Guilderland Central School District MOTION made by Mrs. del Prado, seconded by Ms. Young, that the Board of Education approve a health and welfare contract with Guilderland Central School District, in the total amount of $11,120.00 for the 2015-2016 school year.
