Kent Michael 316-682-4403 ACCC s Web Page..... http://members.cox.net/accc Message from the Prez... July started off with the ACCC annual Ice Cream Social that takes the place of the monthly club meeting. This event is our summer social event and little or no club business is conducted. It was so great to see the huge turn out and have the enjoyment of visiting with everyone over some great home made ice cream and cookies and brownies and other goodies. We had twenty one Corvettes turn out for the drive-and-eat that was hosted by Gene and Marcene Brown. We were led off to the southeast through the countryside to Winfield to the Ridge Restaurant for a good meal and a great time. I want to thank Gene and Marcene for great event. About midway through the month the ACCC went on a half day road trip to southern Kansas where Gipson is mined and took some scenic drives and ended up at a place called Buster s Saloon in Sun City. Twelve Corvettes and a metal SUV left Wichita and when we stopped for a break in Harper we picked up two more Corvettes. When we arrived at Buster s he had ribs and steaks in the smoker and served up some great red beers for those of us that wanted it. On the way down we hazed one of our new members just for fun. Ha! Mike Thompson and his mom were accidentally left behind and they weren t sure which way we went but we quickly missed them and were able to gather them back up, and all was well. I want to make another big apology to Mike and his mother for that. All and all a great time was had by all who attended. We still have a lot of great Corvette events in coming months, I hope everyone will be able to participate in some of them. I hope to see all of you at the meeting, Kevin. Page 1

August, 2005 Volume 38 - Issue 8 Minutes from the July 6, 2005 ACCC Meeting The July Ice Cream Social meeting was brought to order by President Kevin Mansfield. Approximately 42 members and guests showed up at Beech Lake for a beautiful evening of wonderful desserts and great camaraderie. We were all so anxious to get to the home made ice cream that not much of a meeting took place. Kevin did remind everyone of the drive and eat on July 8th and day trip to Sun City on July 16th. Kevin called for a show of hands for the Liberal weekend trip in August and only 4 people were interested so he will talk about that later. I want to make a correction to last months minutes I overlooked welcoming new guests Frank and Carolyn Dotson who own a white C5 and thank them for attending our club meeting. Kevin then said meeting adjourned and Let s Eat in favor of chocolate cake and brownies. Thanks to everyone who participated in making this month s meeting a success. Volume 38 - Issue 8 August, 2005 Minutes from the July 20, 2005 ACCC E-Board Meeting E-board meeting was brought to order by President Kevin Mansfield at Connie and John Fitzgibbons home. We had a large agenda to go over and got right to business. Kevin went over this month s drive and eat sponsored by Doug and Mary Mehl leaving the Benton Antique Mall at 5:30 on Saturday August 6th. A reminder that club officer elections coming up and 3 positions will be open in November. Vice President Greg Esping is in charge of new member package s to be given out and in addition he will check on getting prices so that we can order new business cards for the club that will show correct information on them. Also Greg is needing more door prize items used for the monthly meetings, so if anyone wants to volunteer anything please get with Greg. Treasurer Gary Henderson reported $1275.00 savings and 804.57 in the checking account. Gary reported 2 new members Terry Pollard and Peter Levy joining our club. Secretary Mary Mehl had nothing new to report. Officer at Large Connie Fitzgibbons reported the club points chart is up to date at this time. Also she showed new corvette jackets that her and John just bought and will bring to club meeting to meet approval and will take orders. NCCC Governor Monte Rans discussed having the flyer s for the Summer Challenge Auto Cross on August 13th and 14th. The Funkahauna will be on Sunday September 11th and he will be making up a flyer to be handed out to everyone also this is a non sanctioned event. Newsletter Editor Kent Michael reported he will be making an updated membership directory and will update the events schedule. Old Business Sun City day trip was a success the drive was beautiful and great food, thanks Greg Esping for setting this event up.
