Recreation & Soccer Center Recreation summer programs started on June 4 th with 16 coed adult softball leagues, Food Truck Feast on June 16th and then summer camps starting on June 25 th. Home Run Derby was extremely successful first year event with low impact high yield, excellent turn out and community feedback. Suggesting an event such as this or similar would be well received, permitting the timeframe chosen. Derby had 23 participants; parents were extremely involved, families stayed to watch all categories. The Teen Advisory Committee has met twice and has 11 members. We will reconvene after school is out in a couple weeks. Events are gaining good traction so far on social media. We have already had three teen bands reach out on how to audition and have teamed up with NW Rockstar League in Tacoma who will help us find more teen bands in the area. The Committee is a great group of teens who are thoroughly excited to plan and execute events for their peers. Movie Night (Black Panther) Friday, August 10 Battle of the Bands Friday, September 14 Superhero Dodgeball Night Friday, October 26 Sehmel Homestead Park Meadow maple tree trimmed to 30 leaving habitat and improving safety.
