NEWSLETTER Dec., 2017 2004 Hi y'all PRESIDENT S NOTES Well, Thanksgiving is history. I hope everyone had a good one! Always nice to have family and friends around to help eat all that good food and take up your recliner for a nap after eating turkey. We had another good turnout at our monthly meeting. We had four guests and one joined the club. Welcome to Laurie Dick from Lago Vista. Friday Night Fever is going good. We have had 25 to 30 cars every night! A few non-club cars from other towns. Remember there isn't a Club Meeting in December. The Christmas Party takes it's place. Sounds like a lot of members are planning to attend. Hope to see you there. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!! Secretary s Report Patsy Craven The minutes were read by Secretary. A motion to accept minutes as read was made by Bob Deets and seconded by Steve Koehn. All members present were in agreement. Treasurer s Report Report was presented by Barbara Weber Barbara Weber ACTION: No action made on the treasurer s report. Past/Future Activities Mark Kidd/George Dewitt See Report (May be viewed on club website) Old Business Don Weber President Don Weber reminded everyone to get their money in for the Christmas Dinner party. Cost is $10 for members. Cyndy Kidd needs reservations by December 1 st! Bob Deets thanked Cyndy Kidd, Barb Weber and Shirley Anderson for all their hard work on the party. The monthly newsletter had a computer glitch that prevented timely delivery you may go to website to review. New Business Don Weber President Don Weber stated a money order in the amount of $540 was given to the anonymous donor. Don had received a copy of the donors matching donation and a copy of the check that was issued to First Baptist church of Hampshire for distribution to those in need. Thank you members! Ron Adwers suggested and made a motion that the club starts placing an ad in the newspaper to thank our many great sponsors of our car show. (He had a copy of the ad from the Lions Club) Mark Kidd stated an ad that size would cost $500-600, and club would rather give money to the kids. A personal visit is made to donors after the show to thank, give them a tee shirt and thank-you card. Motion was tabled for now, until Mark could visit with paper, find out cost or see if they would donate a quarter page ad. Information Item Thank you to Cyndy Kidd and Shirley Anderson for the goodies tonight. For LARC merchandise, contact: patsy.craven68@gmail.com Meeting adjourned @ 7:55 PM ACTION: Don Weber 3

MARK TOLD ME Not too much going on, so your fiendly Editor told Mark to just give him a few pointers on what appened in November and what will be going on in December and January, so here goes What had Happened (short e-mail from Mark) Nov.14th Had very good monthly meeting, many new people... Nov. 15th. Breakfast at Mama's 29 people.. Nov.17th - Friday Night Fever 28 cars Nov. 22nd..Breakfast 30 people... Nov. 29th Breakfast 29 people.. What s going to Happen (based on phone call from Mark, with additional stuffing provided by Editor) Friday, Dec. 1 This will be our 1st Friday Night Fever for December, to be held at the 281 food court. Hope the weather will cooperate. Saturday, Dec. 2 Mark told of an upcoming Show and Shine to be held at the Courthouse Square in Lampasas from 11AM to 4PM bring your chairs Also, George will host the Swap Meet at Caliber Collision on 281N in Marble Falls. Bring something automotive to sell or trade, so leave the broken lawn mower at home. Bring your classic car if you come. Better yet, go to the Swap Meet, then depart for the Lampasas Show and Shine. Saturday, Dec 9 Our Annual Christmas Party at the Meadow Lakes Country Club. If you participate in the White Elephant Gift Exchange, bring a gift. Guys bring guy gifts, Ladies bring lady s gifts. The exchange melee that follows is hilarious! Don t plan on hanging on to that neat gift, if you are the first or second person to receive it. It s open season. Then you have to go out and try to pry a gift out of someone else s hands. Deadline for reservations is December 1. See Cyndy Kidd for reservations. Friday, Dec.15 Will be our 3rd Friday Night Fever, weather permitting,, held at the food court. EDITOR S CORNER We are beginning to enter the winter doldrums, with a slackening of car show events, so our calendar will be fairly light, except for the Friday Night Fevers on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month weather permitting. As a result, we ended up with a brief Newsletter for December. Hope that we will have a dinner outing in January, so let s be extra nice to the 3 Musketeers. Maybe they will put something together for us. Please be sure to thank them for all the effort that they put in in planning and carrying out each of these dinner events. Judy and I won t be able to attend the Christmas Party, due to a previous commitment, so please have fun for us. Let s all have a happy, merry, and blessed Christmas, and appreciate our loved ones. We are sorry about the delay in issuing of the November issue of the Newsletter. That was beyond Shirley s control, since Google decided to change the policy on multiple mail-outs without notifying her. She tried her best to send out the Newsletter to the membership, even though she was suffering from pneumonia. Be sure and thank her for all her efforts. It was a frustrating effort both for her and the editor. 4
