City of Modesto Planning Commission Minutes June 5, 2017 Being the hour of 6:00 pm, the meeting was called to order by Chairperson Escutia- Braaton. I. ROLL CALL Commissioners Birring, Escutia-Braaton, Lucas, Morad, Pollard, Smith and Vohra present II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES It was moved by Commissioner Pollard, seconded by Commissioner Morad, and carried unanimously that the minutes of the regular meeting of May 1, 2017, be approved. It was moved by Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Vohra, and carried unanimously that the minutes of the special meeting of May 15, 2017, be approved. III. VESTING TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1007 COLLEGE AVENUE (LOUIS PETRAKIS) V. OTHER BUSINESS Item C Update-CH&CDC Commissioner Morad updated the Planning Commission on CH&CDC meeting from Thursday, May 18 th. The CH&CDC took the action to approve the award of $800,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds to the Housing Authority for the county of Stanislaus, in partnership with Great Valley Housing Development Corporation, for development of up to ten small manufactured one bedroom, one bath affordable rental housing units. Commissioner Morad also updated the Planning Commission on the responsibilities and overall mission of the Citizen Housing and Community Development Committee. Commissioner Morad explained that the Committee provides overall review of the City s Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds as well as makes funding recommendations to the City Council regarding the HUD Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Shelter Grant, and Home Investment Partnership Grant programs. VI. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Patrick Kelly reminded the Planning Commission about the upcoming LAFCO 101 workshop, scheduled for 6:00p.m., June 28, 2017, to be held in Chambers of Tenth Street Place. VII.
