WASECA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SEPTEMBER 15, 2015 The Waseca Count y Board of Commissioners met in regular session and as ditch authority on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, in the boardroom, 300 North State Street, Waseca, Minnesota. Members present were Chair Mike Hintz, Dan Kuhns, Blair Nelson and Jim Peterson. Commissioner Androli was absent. Others present were Curt Kephart, Administrator; Tammy Spooner, Auditor- Treasurer; Brenda Miller, County Attorney; Nathan Richman, Highway Engineer; Brad Milbrath, Sheriff; and Suzy Rook, News Reporter. Chair Hintz called the ditch authority meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. Roll call was taken and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Tammy Spooner, Auditor-Treasurer, recommended redetermination of county ditches #8, #19, #25 and #27. Kuhns moved and Peterson seconded to appoint Jones, Haugh & Smith as the engineer ing firm and Chris Christianson, Mark Behrends, Robert Hansen, and Dennis Distad as the ditch viewers for the redetermination of the recommended ditches. Motion carried unanimously. Kuhns moved and Peterson seconded to adjourn the ditch authority session at 9:34 a.m. Motion carried unanimously. At 9:34 a.m., Chair Hintz called the regular session call to order. Roll call was restated and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. There was no public comment. Peterson moved and N elson seconded to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously. Correspondence was shared and bills were found to be in order. Request to transfer $13,083.46 from the general fund to special revenue fund for SHIP Grant matching funds. f. Approve Annual Off Highway Vehicle (ATV) Grant Agreement. Kuhns moved and Hintz seconded the motion to approve the minutes from the September 1, 2015 regular county board meeting and September 1, 2015 budget work session. Motion carried unanimously. 587
Brenda Miller, County Attorney, requested to recruit for an assistant attorney due to recent vacancy. Kuhns moved and Nelson seconded to approve proceeding with the recruitment. Motion carried unanimously. Sheriff Milbrath presented a conditional offer of employment to Bronson Hindal, Deputy Sheriff. Hintz moved and P eterson seconded to approve the hire contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check. Motion carried unanimously. Curt Kephart, County Administrator, presented a conditional offer of employment to Brooke Erdes, part-time Drug Court Officer. K uhns moved and N elson seconded to approve the hire contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check. Motion carried unanimously. Nathan Richman, Highway Engineer, requested to award project #81155 to the lowest responsible bidder, Borneke Construction, for the amount of $169,297.00. Nelson moved and Peterson seconded to award the project as requested. Motion carried unanimously. Curt Kephart, County Administrator, shared his Administrator s Update Report and shared information regarding the upcoming AMC Conference. Reports of commissioners were given.
