Page 2 Prior Lake Chamber News Greetings from your Chamber Chair - Kim Prchal Blahnik, Prchal & Stoll, PLLC Brrrrr..yes, I will start with a general complaint about the cold weather. I was born and raised in Minnesota, and surprisingly I cannot get used to this weather. As we head into the cold season, I wish everyone health and happiness and I challenge you all to find one Minnesota winter hobby and get out there and enjoy it! The Chamber Board has been listening to you, not like Secret Service listening to you, but you get my point. We listened to your request for additional speakers, and we listened to those of you that thought getting to know more about the SMSC would be a wonderful topic. I couldn t agree more and that s why I reached out to Bill Rudnicki, Trial Administrator of the SMSC, and he was gracious enough to set a program for us. Bill wishes he could be there himself but he is out of town so he is sending Gregory Hayes (Director of Public Safety) and Stephen Albrecht (Director of Land and Natural Resources) in his place. SMSC provides much needed services and culture to our community and I hope we can gather together and learn more about the SMSC. Our meeting will take place October 24 th at the Wilds. Please join us and invite a friend. My charitable mention for the month of October is Protecting Paws Animal Rescue. Protecting Paws was established in 2012 by Keri (Marsh) Bedeaux and serves to help animals that have nowhere else to go. Since 2012, Protecting Paws has rescued over 1800 animals! They take surrendered animals and strive to serve the Twin Cities as well as other states as well. Protecting Paws is run 100% by dedicated volunteers, fosters, and board members. They take all types of donations including monetary and product donations. This month we can help by becoming a volunteer for this organization, or by making a monetary donation. Go to protectingpawsanimalrescue.org. We have receipts available for anyone looking to donate. Thank you again for helping give back, giving is an integral part of any successful person or business.
