EXPERT CONSULTATION ON HEALTH IN ALL POLICIES Agenda OVERALL MEETING OBJECTIVE To provide guidance and key recommendations on the implementation of the Health in All Policies Regional Plan of Action adopted at the 53rd Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in September, 2014. SPECIFIC MEETING OBJECTIVES To develop a Roadmap addressing the implementing of the Regional Plan of Action on Health in All Policies between 2014-2019 including roles and responsibilities; To validate Working Document An Analysis of the Twelve Process Indicators in PAHO s Regional Plan of Action on Health in All Policies developed by Dr. Orielle Solar and Dr. Patricia Frenz; Provide inputs on White Paper on Health in All Policies: From the Local to the Global developed by Prof. Evelyne de Leeuw. BACKGROUND In September, 2014, a Regional Plan of Action on Health in All Policies was adopted by PAHO s Directing Council. The Regional Plan of Action on Health in All Policies has been informed by the latest regional evidence, best practices documented by countries in the Region, as well as a number of consultations with stakeholders both within and beyond the Region. On 31 March and 1 April, 2015, PAHO will conduct an Expert Consultation on the implementation of the Regional Plan of Action on Health in All Policies (HiAP). This exercise will serve to define concrete recommendations as to how the Regional Plan of Action on HiAP can best be operationalized within the Region of the Americas over the course of the next five years, 2014-2019. This will also provide an opportunity to engage in a dialogue that reflects upon what kinds of interventions have worked in the Region, what we can begin doing to better address Health in All Policies, and what we should be doing differently to more effectively narrow the inequity gap through the HiAP approach.
