I haven t been able to go on some of the Tours because of work, but everyone tells me that the tour Lori & Rudy led to Riverside was great good food at the restaurant, and many interesting things re animation and how it is created. Don t know how the Perez s seem to find all of these interesting things, but they do keep coming up with them. Hope many of you were able to go to the Murrieta Gardens also I m sure it was a great trip. INDEPENDENCE DAY BBQ AND FIREWORKS Ron and Susan Hull have once again invited us to join them at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Temecula for a BBQ with hot dogs, hamburgers and all the trimmings, followed by wonderful display of fireworks set to patriotic music. We ll meet at the Hull residence on Friday, 5:00p and then travel over as a group to the church where we will have special parking. Contact Ron for info. June 2014 Temecula Valley Ford Model A Club Page 3 Temecula Valley A s General Meeting May 15 th 2014 Meeting called to order at 7:00 Pledge of Allegiance led by Joe Patrick President: Karen Beel: Karen introduced Cindy McLean, who asked for 6 Model A s drivers to carry the Miss Temecula Court in the 4 th of July Parade and Temecula Christmas Parade. Cindy needed to get back to Karen on the times and dates. There will be a Memorial Potluck for David Riggle on May 24, flyer passed around for those interested. Karen said that she called RJ s Sizzlin Steer to reserve time for Christmas party on December 6. She needs volunteers to help with party. Vice President: Rudy Perez: Rudy introduced guest: Ken Wuebbels. Rudy had a story about the funeral procession he and Lori were in earlier that day. Secretary: Sheila Saxman: Anna Lewis made a motion to accept the April minutes as printed. William Quiroz made a second. And it was voted on unanimously to accept the minutes. Treasurer: Ted Iverson: The balance and expenses, as of May 15, 2014, was reported as being the same from the April meeting, as there were no deposits or expenditures. Membership: Ted Iverson (for Laura Iverson): 38 members were present. 1 guest, Ken Wuebbels. Tour Reports: Karen Beel: Karen read tour dates and times during her opening remarks. Larry Beel passed around a sign up sheet for potluck/tech day at the Iversons, also a sign up sheet for Gardner Holt Museum. Walking tour in Old Town Temecula will be June 11. Sheila Saxman announced the date, June 14, and some events for the Murrieta Gardens Car Show, and passed around a sign up sheet. Lori Perez talked about the Taco Party at her house, on June 28 th, with a stop at Randy s Racing Museum. There is a $5.00 charge for the Taco Bar, Kim Sparks made a motion for the club to supplement the cost difference of Taco Bar. Rudy made a second on it. There was no one wanting to discuss it, and therefore the a vote was taken and passed to make up the difference. Larry Beel said Cruisin Grand was June 13 th in Escondido, and gave parking directions. Other tour times and dates were discussed. Recap of Tours: Karen Beel talked about the Orange County Pancake Breakfast. Activities: Joyce and Bob Grieb (for Karolina and Allan Porch): Joe Patrick won the special raffle for driving his Model A. 50/50 winners were: Bob Grieb, Ken Wuebbels, Karen Beel. Donated prizes were won by: Steven Currie, Clyde Dupree and Dawna Davis. Rudy thanked Steve Currie again for donating the distributor for the special raffle. $160 was raised for the club. The winner of the distributor was: George Esades. Newsletter: Robert Saxman: Bob asked for pictures and articles for the newsletter. Historian: Historian needed. Sunshine: Judy Patrick: April birthdays and anniversaries were read. Open Items: Rudy Perez thanked Joyce Grieb for her article in The Restorer. Rudy told the story of his vacation to Oregon and Washington. He also announced the new A team as Joe Patrick, Bob Grieb, and Ron Hull for their work on Ron s car. Sheila Saxman made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Sherri Thomas made the second, and the meeting adjourned at 8:09 p.m. Respectfully submitted by, Sheila Saxman
