IV. RHODES REPORT N/A V. NEW BUSINESS S&A Contigency Proposal: Science & Engineering Student Exhibition The proposal is recommended by the S&A Committee. Requested fund is $1850. Kristine Washburn presented the proposal to fund the science exhibition organized by STEM faculty. There will be 60 different posters with 200 students present their science projects and judges involved throughout the exhibition. Dawn Second by Emmerson approved by the senate to approve minutes. VI. UNSCHEDULED BUSINESS Lunar New Year Festival Eric Dai wishes everyone for wellness and happiness for the rest of the year. VII. ACTIVITY/PRESENTATIONS N/A VIII. COMMITTEE REPORTS Programs Board Fund Raise for Stoneman Douglas High School Town Hall Throwback Time Machine Cameron mentioned about the fundraising set up for the victims of Stoneman Douglas High School shootings on February 21 st -22 nd from 10p.m. to 1p.m. A platform for students to talk about political ideologies. Students can drop questions in Student LIFE. The event is on February 27 th. Provides a fun and interactive dance experience. The first 20 people in line will
get a glow stick and a LED. Need student ID for involvement. Event is on March 2 nd from 8p.m. to 11p.m. Shot of Reality Comedy and education event on alcohol awareness. The event is on March 7 th. College Committees Bookstore Committee Instructional Council Senate Committees Decision Making & Action Planning Morgan Crosby and John Graves provided an update of the committee. The committee discussed different bookstore events during Halloween and Thanksgiving. In addition, they talked about cost-saving options, rental system, and digital books. The bookstore also added a new register to increase efficiency. Yihua Tan talked about the council tasks. The Instructional Council determines class structures, provide series planning, and streamline the class pre-requisite. All groups decided on an idea to continue and start constructing the action plan.
IX. OFFICER REPORTS ASB VP of Public Relations Snack & Chat Graduation Committee ASB VP of Administration ASB Senate Info Board Yihua Tan passed the Snack & Chat sign-up sheet around and encourage the Senators to work. The meeting is on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Riza Hassan mentioned about the ASB Senate Info Board that is up in the Parks Student Union hallway. The board will showcase proposal presented in Senate meetings, announcements, and important updates. ASB VP of Clubs Awards GALA Travis Felver asked the Senators to contact if they are interested in becoming a part of the Awards GALA committee.
ASB VP Budget & Finance Budgets Jenna Mohr mentioned that the budget hearing sessions were done. Current Budget for the S&A Contigency Fund is $ 77,510.90 ASB President E-Tech Committee Green Fee X. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REMINDERS Tina Te talked about the E-Tech committee update. There will be budget hearings soon. Green Fee is a proposed fee to help Sustainability Office earn a grant to work on sustainability initiatives. The Green Fee committee needs help promote the fee and spread the awareness about its impact.
