The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Susan Kryszczak at 7:04p.m. Statement: In accordance with the Sunshine Law: Notice of this meeting has been provided to the South Jersey Times, the Courier Post, the District Website, and the Municipal Clerk of the Township of Deptford to be posted in a public place. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A MEETING CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC Motion by Ms. Rosser, seconded by Mr. McDevitt, on the recommendation of the Superintendent to enter closed session at 7:33p.m. WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 10:4-12 allows for a Public Body to go into closed session during a Public Meeting; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Township of Deptford has deemed it necessary to go into closed session to discuss certain matters which are exempted from the Public; and WHEREAS, the regular meeting of this Board of Education will reconvene at the conclusion of closed session, at approximately 8:15 p.m. this evening. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Township of Deptford will go into closed session for the following reason(s) as outlined in N.J.S.A. 10:4-12: X X Any matter the disclosure of which constitutes an unwarranted invasion of individual privacy (HIB review); Any matter involving the employment, appointment, termination of employment, terms and conditions of employment, evaluation of the performance, promotion or disciplining of any specific prospective public officer or employee or current public officer or employee employed or appointed by the public body, unless all individual employees or appointees whose rights could be adversely affected request in writing that such matter or matters be discussed at a public meeting (Subject to the balancing of the public s interest and the employee s privacy rights under South Jersey Publishing, 124 N.J. 478, the employee(s) and nature of discussion is: Personnel. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Education hereby declares that its discussion of the aforementioned subject(s) may be made public at a time when the Board Attorney advises the Board of Education that the disclosure of the discussion will not detrimentally affect any right, interest or duty of the School District or any other entity with respect to said discussion. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Education, for the aforementioned reasons, hereby declares that the public is excluded from the portion of the meeting during which the above discussion shall take place and hereby directs the Board Secretary to take the appropriate action to effectuate the terms of this resolution. The Deptford Township Board of Education certifies that: a. Board Secretary s Report is in accordance with 18A:17-36 and 18A:17-9 for the month of October, 2018. The Board Secretary certifies that no line item account has been over expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10(c)3 and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. b. Renew Deptford BOE membership in the Gloucester, Cumberland, Salem School Districts Joint Insurance Fund (GCSSD JIF) for the three year membership term commencing on July 1, 2019 and such resolutions / agreements necessary to effectuate membership; as attached (Finance Attachment 3). 4. Appoint South Jersey Family Medicine for School Physician services for the 2018-2019 school year in the amount of $21,000. 5. Disposal of laminator located at Deptford High School. I-Cool Presentation Systems Laminator, Serial Number LT05432014. The equipment is not functioning and has no educational value. 6. Agreement with Camden County College for the High School Plus Program for 2018-2019. Through the CCC High School Plus Program, eligible high school students can receive instruction in degree credit courses at a reduced tuition rate. CCC will reimburse the district an amount per student enrolled to defray the direct cost of instruction. BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS Motion by Ms. Rosser, seconded by Mrs. Gray, on the recommendation of the Superintendent to approve the following and removing Item #2 from the agenda: 1. Bid Award Portable Boiler Room Rental @ DHS UNFINISHED BUSINESS WHEREAS, on November 20, 2018 the Deptford Township Board of Education conducted a public bid opening to award the rental services for a Portable Boiler Room, which yielded the following submissions for consideration: Company PK Mechanical Services of Garwood, NJ $74,800.00 (6 month proposal) and; WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Schools Contract Law, N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-1 et seq.; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Deptford Township Board of Education awards the contract for rental of a Portable Boiler Room to PK Mechanical Services for a prorated portion of the total contract amount of $74,800.00 based on the number of months utilized. Mr. McDevitt mentioned the Jazz fundraiser was cancelled and rescheduled for this Thursday, which is on the same night as the JIF dinner and the School Boards meeting. Mr. McKenna gave a Danny Greene update for entrance into the Gloucester County Hall of Fame. NEW BUSINESS Dr. Scambia reported how Ms. Bilda provided meals for the needy on Thanksgiving. Ms. Rosser is collecting coats for the needy. Mrs. Gray reported that the middle school is having a fundraiser for Team Cancer on Wednesday. Mr. Kalinowski commended Good Intent s Veterans Day ceremony. He also congratulated Leah Giles (soccer player) for scholarship to LaSalle University. Mrs. Gray thanked Mr. Dietz for working with the high school students and getting them out early on the snow day so the buses could get back for the elementary schools. 6

Mrs. Kryszczak commented on positive feedback she is seeing from the public. She thanked the Board and Administration for their efforts.
