April Meeting This month we have a real treat in store! Michael Heim, President of the TAMDC (Texas Association of Metal Detecting Clubs) will be here and will share ideas for Growing Your Club. Additionally, Michael will share news of upcoming events the Show and other upcoming events. You will not want to miss this program! Special thanks to Jim Clary, who has stepped up to work on arranging programs for AMDC. We will have our Find of the Month competition featuring items found since the March meeting. The FOM form is the last page of this newsletter, and Daniel and Susie will have copies at the meeting. Executive Meeting Our meetings are the first Thursdays of most months, at 6:00. We will meet at the Bill Miller s at 709 E. Ben White (right at I-35). All are welcome at any Board meetings. We usually come early to visit and grab a bite; the meeting begins at 6:00. TAMDC SHOW! The big day is almost here the Annual Treasure Show which is being held in Temple again this year on April 20-22. This is a huge, statewide event sponsored by TAMDC. AMDC will have a booth the theme will be Search Team Super-Hero s. We will set up the booth on Friday April 20, and we need to have things set up by 3:00. This year they will open the show to the public from 5:00-9:00 on Friday, and have added a Night Hunt for us to add to the fun. We need displays for our booth. Please bring to the show, or to the meeting if you can t make the show, and we will bring it for you. See the complete show details, schedule and application for the hunt online at tamdc.org Garrett Memorial Hunt A number of AMDC members attended the Second Annual Garrett Memorial Hunt in Jefferson the weekend of March 24. This was a jam packed fun weekend, with a night hunt, relic hunt, main hunt, free range hunting w. prizes etc. Word has it that there were about 400 detecting enthusiasts from around the state and beyond, in attendance. The Colorado club had a large group who ventured to Texas, and this hunt provided a great opportunity to renew and make new friendships. Below are a few pics, compliments of Susie.

Here is open space! Do you have something to include in the newsletter? A story? Tips?

AMDC is on Face Book! Be sure and check out and Like the Group Be sure and check the Face Book page often, as we put pictures and news of club goings on. Lost and Found Efforts Since the last report the Search Team has had three requests to search for lost items. The first request was from a woman in Westlake who thought she d lost her wedding ring in the front yard. Before we could go out, the lady called to say that she d located the ring on the grill of her car! The second request was from an attorney representing a developer who asked us to search for bullets and casings on property that was to be developed in Liberty Hill. There was a lawsuit pending against an adjoining gun range. After consideration, the team decided to decline to get involved. The final request was to search for an engagement ring lost in the back yard. Scott Hegel was prepared to go out, but got a call that the ring had been found. Many thanks to those who serve on these searches. It takes a lot of time and effort to go out, but it is always appreciated even if the item(s) are not located. AMDC Website Remember to check our web site often to see what s there! Our web site is: http://www.amdconline.com Newsletter Contest! We continue our drawing for a prize at the meetings. If you can answer the mystery question correctly taken from information in the newsletter, your name may be drawn. Good luck! Upcoming Events: April 21 & 22-2018 TAMDC Convention & Show, Temple April 28 Volunteer Search on property in Lakeway June 20-21 - Lions Camp (service project with kids) Kerrville, Texas November 10 AMDC Veteran s Day Hunt Old Settler s RV Park Round Rock Question: In what city will the Annual Treasure Show be held this month?
