MINUTES: Resolution No.18/11 Conny Kappler moved to accept the minutes of the February 27, 2018 ASB meeting as presented.

The Seed Plant Board completed their business plan, and they have purchased the blueprints from the Strathmore Seed Plant. Agri-Environmental presented by Kennedy Fandrick. Report from a Meeting with Alberta Ag Minister presented by Conny Kappler. Conny Kappler had the opportunity to meet with the Ag Minister regarding the three Cypress County resolutions from the 2018 ASB Conference, ag producers STEP program and the Local Food Act. Resolution No.18/12 Michelle McKenzie moved to accept the Agricultural Fieldman, Seed Plant, Agri-Environmental, and Meeting with the Minister of Alberta Agriculture and Forestry reports as presented. DELEGATION: Lisa Kowalchuck - Chamber of Commerce Primary agricultural producers are businesses that are under represented on the and District Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber would like to partner together with the ASB to better represent the farming community within Southern Alberta. The Chamber of Commerce has the ability to further represent the ag business community through their advocacy channels. LUNCH: RECONVENE: 12:05 P.M. 12:40 P.M. NEW BUSINESS: ASB Annual Report to Council Resolution No.18/13 Shane Hok moved to accept the 2017 ASB Annual Report to Council as presented and to direct staff to present the report to Council at the upcoming Council meeting. ASB Presentation of Cypress County Farm Family of the Resolution No.18/14 Shane Hok moved to direct staff to request that the Stampede Association allow the ASB to recognize the 2018 Cypress County Farm Family of the Year award at the 2018 Exhibition and Stampede and to send Dustin Vossler to present the award. ASB Delegate to BMO Farm Family Of the Year Award Ceremony Resolution No.18/15 Michelle McKenzie moved to send Kyle Knodel and a guest to attend the 2018 BMO Farm Family of the Year award ceremony to represent Cypress County at the Calgary Stampede.
ASB Minutes April 24, 2018 Page 4 STEP Program Agricultural Eligibility Resolution No.18/16 Michelle McKenzie moved to authorize Conny Kappler to assist staff in formulating a resolution regarding agricultural producers access to government grant funding to employ seasonal workers and to bring the resolution back to the ASB prior to the deadline for submission of resolutions to the regional ASB Conference, for review. Stampede Shareholder Purchase Resolution No.18/17 Conny Kappler moved to request that Council consider the purchase of a share in the Exhibition and Stampede for the one-time fee of $350.00. ITEMS FOR INFORMATION: 2018 ASB Tour in Strathcona County, July 10-13. Advance to the Organizing Committee of 2019 ASB Conference. AFAC Thank-you for Donation.
