We went around the room and each person introduced themselves and their position. President Mary Weich opened with a devotional Growing Old is Dangerous. Secretary s Report The minutes of the April 5 th board meeting were accepted as corrected. Motion to approve minutes as corrected was by Jan Hibbs 2 nd by Carol Brandl Motion passed.

2 Treasures Report by Susan Seidel Printed report see attached copy. Susan went through the report as follows. District Director s Reports Region I There was no report. Region II There was a printed report (see attached copy) with a verbal report given by Janet Atkinson. Janet handed out the printed report which gave information about the upcoming Region II Quilt Gathering Quilts of Local Color on September 27, 2014 in Albion NE. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. There is no charge to attend the gathering. There is a $10.00 charge for the lunch. Region III There was a verbal report by Jan Hibbs. Jan reported on the Region III Quilt gathering that was held on April 26, 2014 at the Grand Generation Center in Cozad NE. They were not charged rent because they had bought the lunch through the Center and the charge per person for lunch was $5.00. The special speaker was Pat Fryer of Villa Rosa Designs. There were four sessions of round robins in the morning. The ladies from North Platte gave a promo on the convention. Marty Kleppinger gave a presentation on NSQG. Sue Boyer talked about FRIENDS. The event was a success with 118 people attending. Jan informed the board that pictures and an article about the event is in the June 2014 NSQG Newsletter. The total cost for the event came to $489.53.

3 Committee/Project Reports QNE 14 Kelly Thomalla gave a verbal report. Sharron Nejedly was also present. There are 195 registered for QNE 14 as of this meeting. There are 71 registered for Quilt History day. The tours for the Golden Spike were already filled. Kelly reminded everyone about the Hobo theme for the Friday night Banquet. QNE 15 There was a printed report. See attached copy. Deb Austin also gave a verbal report. QNE 15 will be held July 23 26, 2015 at Divots in Norfolk. QNE 15 will be the 30 th year anniversary for QNE. They have contracts signed with our national teachers and the quilt history day teacher. The plans are going well for QNE 15. The people at Divots and the Life Long Learning Center are being very helpful with them in planning the convention. The rooms at Divots will cost $89.00. Awards No report By- Laws & Policies There was a printed report from Miriam Peterson approved by Fay Kliewer. See attached copy. Mary Weich read this report. this is the addition to the By- laws, discussed and voted on at the last meeting and forwarded and approved by Fay Kliewer. This line will be added to the membership form: A line shall be included on the membership form to allow for members to make a voluntary donation to the fund for scholarships to the Nebraska State Quilt Convention. Education There was a printed report. See attached copy. Mary Weich read the report. Shelia Green inquired if about 15% of the proceeds from Threads Across Nebraska were going to the FRIENDS of IQSC again this year? They appreciate receiving these extra funds. This is included each year in the budget. This amount is decided at the fall board meeting after Threads Across Nebraska. There was discussion about this and about the costs of the newsletter, the booklets and promoting NSQG and promoting membership in NSQG. President Mary Weich requested that this line be in the minutes: Next year we will have to redo the budget to fit our funds. Historian Jayne Schlosser gave a verbal report. Jayne asked for photos of Quilt Gatherings for Historical backup. Jayne mentioned that the board should consider evaluating and revamping the role of the Historian and how it is done. The Historian collects what people send and this goes into a file which is kept for five years then put in the archives, no one see s this information. There was discussion on this. Jayne report that she would be the Historian for one more year then would like to be done with being the Historian.

4 Library There was a printed report from Katie Wilson, see attached copy. Mary Weich read this report to the board. 276 copies of T- Shirt Quilts Made Easy by Martha Deleonardis were given to Libraries in NE. Cost of books = $2202.00, cost for labels, paper and printing at Office Max = $98.48 and postage cost was $704.00 for a total cost of $3004.96. Membership Raffle Quilt/Quilt Mom There was a printed report from Susan Schoenauer, see attached copy. Mary Weich read this report to the board. The 2014 NSQG Raffle Quilt will be displayed at the Elgin Q125 Celebration June 20-22, 2014, from there the Raffle Quilt will be hung and displayed at the Golden Spike in North Platte until QNE 14. A special thank you was mentioned for Terry Heessel for arranging for the display at the Golden Spike. Site Selection There was a printed report by Pam Thomas., see attached copy. Mary Weich read the report to the board. QNE 17 will be in Region III. There was discussion on a conflict of dates at Younes Conference Center in Kearney, NE for QNE 17. The consensus of the board was that it would be better to move the location than change the date of the last weekend in July. This information will be relayed to Pam. This committee is still in the process of finding a location for QNE 17. NE State Fair Superintendent There was a printed report from Jan Sittler about preparations for the NSF Quilt Show, see attached copy. Mary Weich read this report to the board. Preparations are on schedule. They still need some volunteers for White Glovers and hanging and taking down the quilts. It was also report that Jan has heard from NSF exhibitors that there is a problem of getting exhibits to fair and returning then after the fair. There are drop- off and pick- up sites in Seward and North Platte. This leaves the rest of the state without extra sites. She inquired if the NSQG would consider this a project for next year, so there could be more sites around the state. NE State Fair Liaison Publicity Friends of ISQC Liaison There was a printed report from Dianne Thomas, see attached copy. Mary Weich read the report to the board. Friends of the ISQC & Museum had a successful fundraiser in April with presenters Marianne Fons and her daughter Mary. Friends also participated in Give to Lincoln Day which raised over $3000.00 Leslie Levy will begin her position as Director of the IQSC & Museum on July 1 st. Dianne asked that NSQG members welcome Leslie when they have the chance to. The ground breaking for the addition to the Quilt House is scheduled for mid- June. This addition will add approximately 50,000 square feet. A new show, Modern Marvels, opened Friday, June 6 th, and features Kit Quilts.

5 Website Threads Across NE Carol Brandl gave a verbal report. Leanne is working on the venders and has 22 signed up. Chris is working on the registration form. Registration forms will be available on the web site. The date is Oct 10 & 11, 2014, and this year is the 10 th Anniversary for Threads Across Nebraska. Carol had posters and brochures to hand out to those who wanted them. This year at Threads Across NE the vendors will be featured and hosting events at their booths. The cost to the vendors is $250.00. There were no additional reports. Unfinished Business No unfinished business. New Business No new business. Other Business Shirley Spence reported that she needs Chairmen and Co- chairs for QNE 16 in Lincoln. Shirley requested that we email any ideas or names to her. These Chairmen and Co- chairs do not have to be from Lincoln. Adjournment Meeting adjourned at 11:45 am.
