Katy Krieger, Chair Seniors Information Fair Sub-Committee Ms. Krieger, Chair, Senior Information Fair (SIF) Sub-committee, provided the following overview which included but was not limited to: Committee members to wear blue and black on day of Fair to assist attendees to identify committee members 11

Scugog Seniors Advisory Committee #5 May 3, 2016 Exhibitors confirmation letters have been sent out / tables have been assigned. Outdoor electronic sign at Scugog Community Recreation Centre to display information regarding the Senior Information Fair Attendees will receive a ticket which can be redeemed for a complimentary light lunch which will be prepared by the Greenbank 4H Group. Discussed upcoming advertising to appear in various publications including church bulletins Draws and distribution of prizes was discussed. The Committee agreed not to request prizes/donations from local merchants. Two larger floral arrangements will be given away along with approximately 25 smaller plants. The Committee agreed these would be randomly distributed to attendees as they hand in their completed survey form upon leaving the Fair. The Chair thanked Ms. Whittle for arranging the transportation for this event through Taylor Ford. The Scugog Seniors Advisory Committee submitted an application for funding to the Seniors Information and Active Living Fair 2016-2017 which is a public education initiative, developed in partnership between the Older Adult Centres Association of Ontario (OACAO) and the Ontario Seniors Secretariat (OSS) to increase seniors awareness about the programs and services to which they are entitled, knowledge on healthy aging and lifestyles and recognition of seniors contributions. The Committee is a current OACAO Member. The Committee received funds from the OACAO Seniors Information and Active Living Fair in the amount of $2,500 for the June 3, 2016 Senior Information Fair. Acceptable items that may be included in the Fairs Budget include but are not limited to: Honorariums/Entertainment/Speakers Food-Healthy Snacks Printing Advertising/Promotion Audio visual equipment Food - Healthy snacks - apples will be distributed to attendees Transportation (buses) Postage ii. April Speaking Engagements Port Perry Rotary Club Co-Chair Krieger advised she recently spoke at the Rotary Club inquiring if assistance could be provided with transportation in North Durham for individuals wishing to attend the June 3 Seniors Information Fair. Mr. Gulanowski to follow up with the Rotary Club if they can assist with this request. 12

Scugog Seniors Advisory Committee #5 May 3, 2016 Canterbury Commons Coffee Club Chair Banner spoke about the focus groups (Housing and Transportation) that are scheduled during the Seniors Information Fair and invited all to attend. Community Care (CCAC) Co-Chair Krieger attended in place of Chair Banner and distributed sign up sheets for the Seniors Information Fair focus groups (Housing and Transportation) and invited all to attend iii. Region of Durham Diversity Fair- Friday, April 15, 2016 Committee members Leslie Banner, Katy Krieger and Frank Gulanowski manned a table, representing the Scugog Seniors Advisory Committee, at this event. 6. Correspondence Mario Sergio Minister Responsible for Seniors Affairs Re: June - Seniors Month This correspondence was received for information. 7. Other Matters/New Business i. Letter to Merchants This matter was discussed under Section 5 Sub committee report and the Committee agreed not to request prizes/donations from local merchants. ii. 2016 OACAO Aging Well Conference November 14 & 15, 2016 Niagara Falls, ON Mr. Gulanowski volunteered to attend the conference as a speaker. He will contact OACAO and report back to committee. iii. Local CARP representative As there have been changes within the CARP organization, Mr. Gulanowski to contact CARP to advise an invitation has been extended to CARP to attend the June 3, 2016 Senior Information Fair. Mr. Gulanowski will be attending the Fair as a member of the Scugog Seniors Advisory Committee and not as a CARP representative. 8. Outstanding Matters - Nil 9.
