I hope you are getting some flying in this summer. We are looking forward to some great weather for our upcoming fall fun fly this October. I have included a separate copy of the Fly-In Flyer with this newsletter so that you can distribute it to your friends and work place. We only have a few meetings left to plan our event. So let s get ready and spread the word. I have purchased and delivered the lumber and hardware necessary to complete the extension of our mower shed. I am planning to get this project started and hopefully completed this coming Saturday AM. I ll bring the tools. I hope we can get a few folks out to help me get this important project behind us. I have a nail gun and a couple of cordless drills so l don t expect it to take too long to get this completed. Just hoping for some cooler weather which I doubt will happen NOAA say s it will be @ 100 next Saturday so I guess I / we should get going as early as possible. We will discuss this further at our meeting this Thursday evening. Please remember that Rustee Rails Train Shoppe is giving members a discount on the evening of our meeting. Lisa say s that the shop will stay open until 7:00 PM on this Thursday evening. So do drop by before our meeting across the street at Peppercorn Grill Restaurant. Till then, remember to Fly Safely! AMA District VIII AVP Mark Johnston has passed on a couple of AMA documents outlining the AMA guidelines for FPV flying. Please see page 2 and 3 for these rules. Attention IPHONE and IPAD Users This newsletter is easily viewed when a PC user opens the PDF on their PC. The Hyperlinks seem to work fine. I have long struggled with the format of Apple not recognizing fonts and also embedded links called Hyperlinks that do not work. This is the reason I try to include the link to the video website etc. I have recently discovered that if you are viewing this newsletter on an ipad or iphone and that if you opened the pdf attachment from your email, the hyperlinks do not work. SO, please try this method of viewing this newsletter instead. Hold your finger on the attachment. A box should open and give you a few choices such as Quick Look ibooks ReaddleDocs etc. I have found that ibooks will open the PDF file and allow normal viewing and the hyperlinks will now work! Depending on the aps that you have installed on your device, some other aps may work. Quick Look did not work for me. So give this a try and I ll continue to see if I can find a newsletter editor that does properly imbed these links into a PDF file. Since apparently Adobe and Apple and Microsoft can t seem to get along. To test this function you should be able to touch the picture below on an ipad or iphone and YouTube should open up. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks Charlie Campbell Editor Brad Bradley s SKY FUN Jet Video Click on picture for video Hyperlink embedded into picture
