E. The Public Record Documents Filed: Memorandum from City Clerk Toni J. Taber, dated May 19, 2017, transmitting the Public Record for the Week of May 12 - May 18, Public Comment: Blair Beekman spoke about the cell phone tower that was noted in the public record. Action: Motion by Councilmember Chappie Jones, seconded by Councilmember Johnny Khamis and carried unanimously, the Committee noted and filed the public record. (5-0.) F. Retroactively approve the Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Dumpster Day sponsored by Council District 5 as a City Council sponsored Special Event to expend City funds and accept donations of materials and services for the event. (Carrasco) 1) Retroactively approve the Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Dumpster Day scheduled on Saturday, May 13,2017 as a City Council sponsored Special Event and approve the expenditure of funds. c. (Planning, Building and Code Enforcement) Approve an amendment to the Community and Economic Development Committee Workplan for January to June 2017 to add Update from the Planning, Building and Code Enforcement Department on the Private Tree Removal Streamlining Policy/Ordinance Study at the June 26,2017 meeting. Documents Filed: Memorandum from Director of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement Harry Freitas, dated May 17, 2017, recommending the approval of an amendment to the Community and Economic Development Workplan for January to June 2017 to add Update from the Planning, Building and Code Enforcement Department on the Private Tree Removal Streamlining Policy/Ordinance Study at the June 26, 2017 Meeting. Open Forum 1. Blair Beekman spoke to the Filipino Flag Raising Ceremony and noted recent worrisome events in the Philippines and asked about the agenda dates and complying with the Brown Act. 2. Ken Schneebeli spoke to the recently approved Just Cause Ordinance and requested that a portion of the ordinance be changed. May 24, 2017
