Persons wishing to address the Commission on a regularly scheduled item on the agenda are requested to complete a request to speak form and give it to the Deputy Clerk. Groups of speakers on a specific item are asked to limit their total presentation to a maximum of twenty minutes for each side of the issue. COMMUTE ALTERNATIVES: The Board of Supervisors encourages the use of commute alternatives including public transit, bicycles, carpooling, and hybrid vehicles. 4 4.a.a Minutes DVC Executive Committee Meeting 4/21/17 A. Call to order -Attendees: Fariba Soroosh, Gina Sessions, Jim Demertzis, Cynthia Hunter, Sylvia Mata, Jake Rohdes, Frank Del Fiugo, Amy Caffrey, Laura Brunetto, Andrew Cain, member of public B. Public Presentations: None. C. Consent Calendar: Approved minutes for 3/17/17 meeting. D. Regular Agenda: 1. Strategic Planner: OWP will post RFP and give us an update at the May Executive Committee meeting. Compass Point has expressed interest. 2. Letter from DVC regarding proposed funding cuts to OVW and VAWA was signed by Fariba and sent out. Cindi will attached letter to DVC agenda for May meeting. 3. LE Training Event Ad Hoc: Fariba reported that the committee has had one meeting to generally discuss an agenda and the speakers. Cindi said that OWP can reserve the Sheriff s Auditorium as soon as we give them a date and time. 4. BIP Study: The attendees discussed the details and parameters of this study as follows: -A skilled researcher should be hired to conduct the study and present the results to the BOS to effect future changes in the law. -Contractor should have experience in this area but not already have a position. -Local policies, procedures and practices should be reviewed as part of this study along with state law and national practices. Other: -Presentation at the June DVC meeting regarding immigration law will be discussed at the May Executive Committee meeting.
