Call To Order Meeting was called to order at 9:17 a.m., by Vice President Edwin Borbon. II. III. Flag Salute Roll Call Present: Shelby Sward, Edwin Borbon, Erin Robinson, Nathan Mayer, Daniela Miramontes, Eric Beadle, Victoria Kovacevich, and Advisor Elizabeth Peisner Absent: Trina Goree, Shelby Fallas, Daniela Garcia, and Aeri Kim Resigned: Jose Perez IV. Adoption of the Agenda Moved by Erin Robinson and seconded by Daniela Miramontes to adopt the agenda. V. Approval of the Minutes Moved by Nathan Mayer and seconded by Victoria Kovacevich to approve the March 28, 2014, minutes. Elizabeth Peisner: Corrections/ typos: item 6, the word liter and item 10 1a, under discussion the word vetted needs to be corrected Edwin Borbon: Under that same item the word genera needs to be corrected to read general Elizabeth Peisner: Corrections/typos: item 13, SGA Ad Hoc Committees, the word club needs to change to committee Moved by Shelby Sward and seconded by Erin Robinson to call the question. Advisor Dr. Liz Peisner Worked on how to get student planners paid for free for next year Unwind Wednesday in discussion; meet some people in the pet store that do mobile/bring in petting animals Denim Day is April 23, 2014, would like to have people bring rip and torn jeans to sign Bravo to everyone for volunteering at the KCCD Board of Trustee lunch April 30, 2014, at 5:15 p.m., Welcome Reception of the incoming SGA members Thanks everyone that volunteered in the Pantry IX. Unfinished Business Moved by Nathan Mayer and seconded by Edwin Borbon to recess for 30 minutes. X. New Business 1. Expenditures a. Moved by Nathan Mayer and seconded by Eric Beadle for the appropriation of funds in the amount of $25.00 to reserve a table for Garden Fest, paid out of TA100. 4 Edwin Borbon: Garden Fest is April 26, 2014, from 9-4p.m., which is a Saturday. The $25.00 to reserve a table will be refunded if we were to stay to 4:00p.m. It is hosted by the Agriculture Department to raise funds for their department. SGA do it every year and I suggest that continue the tradition. I hope to have at least information on SGA at the tables. The theme this year is Carnival. b. Moved by Nathan Mayer and seconded by Victoria Kovacevich for the allocation of funds not to exceed $200.00, to be used in promotion of the Association on Facebook, paid out of TA100. Nathan Mayer: The funds were to promote the SGA on facebook, but since we don t have any funds we decided to not go through with it. Motion failed by general consent, Special Orders a. Moved by Erin Robinson and seconded by Eric Beadle to approve the Student Nursing Association as a club. Moved by Nathan Mayer and seconded by Erin Robinson to postpone item until next meeting. Nathan Mayer: The Association wants to be a club, and we are okay with that, but the Association needs to have a specific Constitution for the campus. b. Moved by Erin Robinson to decide whether the position of Parliamentarian should be appointed by the current Senate or by the newly elected Senate following the beginning of the new term. Motion failed by general consent, no one seconded the motion. XI. Participatory Governance Committee Reports 1. College Council Nathan Mayer: Shelby Sward will not able to attend, so I will be attending the next meeting. 2. Curriculum Committee Computer Science department and they decide to change from COMS to COMP XII. SGA Ad Hoc Committee Reports 1. 5 Looking into getting recycle bins for the Campus Center because it has begun to be a problem XIII. XIV. XV. Other Reports 1. Renegade Pantry Edwin Borbon: Very disappointed that everyone didn t do there Pantry hour If you can t do the hour on Thursday try do your hour during the week Announcements/Discussion Adjournment Moved by Erin Robinson and seconded by Daniela Miramontes to adjourn at 10:26 a.m. Motion passed with no objections.
