1 Hamilton Township Fire District #2 Mercerville Fire Company Fire Chief Christopher Tozzi Deputy Chief Vacant Fire Commissioners Gene Argenti, Chairman Scott Fairfax Ronald Lisciandrello Alec Martin Stephen Vetrano MINUTES February 27, 2017 The Regular Meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners, Hamilton Fire District No. 2, was called to order at 7:35 pm by Commissioner Vetrano, Acting Chairman, due the absence of Chairman Commissioner Argenti. After the flag salute and a moment of silence; the Open Public Meeting Act and the Uniform Fire Safety Code were given. Roll was called. Commissioners in attendance: Scott Fairfax Ronald Lisciandrello (absent) Alec Martin Stephen Vetrano Gene Argenti (Chairman) (absent) The Board issued the following resolution: Resolution: Personnel (8) To go into executive session for Personnel matters Commissioner Fairfax: yes Commissioner Martin: yes Commissioner Vetrano: yes Resolution passed: 3-0 The regular meeting recessed at 7:40 pm to go into executive session The Regular meeting reconvened at 7:55 pm Page 1 of 5

2 Secretary s Report by Commissioner Martin: Commissioner Martin, Board Secretary, presented the February 18 th Elections Minutes. A Motion to approve the minutes, as corrected, was made by Commissioner Martin and seconded by Commissioner Fairfax. The regular minutes from January 23 rd and February 6 th will be presented at the next meeting due to the absence of Commissioner Argenti and Commissioner Lisciandrello. Treasurer s Report by Commissioner Fairfax: The 2016 budget vs. actual should be complete at this time. 3 A Motion was made by Commissioner Fairfax and seconded by Commissioner Martin to approve all 2016 and 2017 PO s as listed. A Motion to pay the bills as listed was made by Commissioner Fairfax and seconded by Commissioner Martin. Building and Grounds: All is going well with the Horizon Disposal Services dumpsters. Repairs were made to the handicap stall in ladies restroom. Chief Tozzi said that we may need to build a wall outside around the new generator. Acres Auto Body will drop off a damaged car to be used for training. Chief Chris Tozzi Report: The bunk room is almost finished and Chief Tozzi is very happy with the results. The estimate for lettering the fire police truck is $2,600. Christian Villatoro will install the vinyl to reduce costs. The Chief met with Hamilton Police concerning having cones donated. The Hamilton Police are big fans of the Fire Police program and would like to help. The KME has been serviced and we will receive a bill for approximately $2,000 for the repairs. The vehicle is now in much better condition. District 7 was very impressed with the training performed by Jarred Pierson and will pay for ½ of Jarred Pierson s overtime for future training. Chief Tozzi attended another Fire District consolidation meeting today and he advised the board to have another budget prepared for Page 3 of 5

4 Chief Tozzi certified the list of qualified applicants for the Deputy Chief position. Chief Tozzi would like approval to surplus the 1992 Brunner air compressor serial # He would like to set a minimum bid at the reserve on EBay. Commissioner Fairfax made a motion to approve surplus of the air compressor and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Martin. Fire Marshall Report: Run by District 17 Scott McCormick No Report Mercerville Fire Company: Commissioner Fairfax would like to ask if the Commissioners would allow the Easter flower sale. 5 The next scheduled meeting will be the annual Reorganization meeting held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 7:30 pm at the Mercerville Fire Company, Hamilton Township Fire District #2. The Board had no further business at this time and Commissioner Fairfax made a motion to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Commissioner Martin.
