1 On Aug 5, 2014, at 10:46 AM, S. Chris Anders, Republican Executive Committee wrote: It's time to stop the tax and spend ways of the Jefferson County Commission View this in your browser Do you know that in Jefferson County you pay higher fees and taxes than any other County in our State? And thanks to the efforts of the Jefferson County Commission those fees and taxes just grew...again.
2 Over the past year the Jefferson County Commission has created BOTH a new fire fee and a new ambulance fee in addition to doubling your E911 fees. And what is even more disturbing, is that all the County Commissioners voted for these new fees, while running our County $3.9 MILLION in the red! I think you agree with me it is time to stop their tax and spend ways. Which is why I am introducing a resolution this Saturday at the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee meeting to censure their actions. For while this will not stop the fees for now, it will send a clear message that we are taxed enough and will fight against any new or increased fees in our county. However I face an uphill battle in fighting tax and spend politicians, which is why I am writing you today. If you support true limited government you need to contact the following committee members and tell them to support this resolution- Jill Upson- upway@aol.com Jean Jacobs- jmikejean@aol.com Peter Stevens- peter.stevens@iapws.com Brett Stone-bas@stonearmy.com By acting can we together start to roll back big government in our County. Then pass this along to your friends and relatives and ask them to do the same.
3 Just wishing something changes does nothing...so do other members of the executive committee today, and tell them they must support our effort to stop the County Commission from taking more of our hard earned money! Tell them a vote against this resolution is a vote for bigger government and more taxes and fees! Here is the resolution I introducing. Resolution for the Censure of the Jefferson County Commission -Whereas the Republican Party of Jefferson County opposes any and all fee and tax increases, - Whereas Jefferson County Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Companies delivered excellent service prior to this new fee, - Whereas it has been shown that forced emergency fees on residents reduces voluntary donations to local fire and ambulance companies so that such organizations actually have fewer operating funds, -Whereas the Jefferson County Residents already pay the highest property taxes in the State, - Whereas the Jefferson County Commission s 2015 budget includes $1.013 Million dollars for Parks and Recreation, -Whereas the Jefferson County Commission mismanaged the 2013 budget creating a $3.9 Million dollar deficit, - Whereas the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee views the responsibility of government to protect individual life, individual liberty and personal property, which includes residents income, -Whereas the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee believes all the residents of Jefferson County deserve fiscally responsible and accountable government,
4 We, the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee, hereby censure the Jefferson County Commission for their lack of foresight and fiscal responsibility. We, the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee, also hereby censure the decision of the Jefferson County Commission to implement Fire and Ambulance fees on the residents of Jefferson County. If you want more fees and taxes, do not act. But if you want to send a clear message to the County Commission that we the residents of Jefferson County will not tolerate their tax and spend way, you need to the following Executive Committee members today, and tell them they must support this effort! Jill Upson- upway@aol.com Jean Jacobs- jmikejean@aol.com Peter Stevens- peter.stevens@iapws.com Brett Stone-bas@stonearmy.com As a member of the Republican Executive committee I am dedicated to limited government, individual liberty and sound fiscal policy. You can keep updated on the happenings of the Jefferson County Executive Committee at this link And I thank you for your support. In Liberty,
