1 Keisuke NAKASHIMA Adjunct Fellow, Global Aging Initiative Center for Strategic and International Studies Keisuke Nakashima is adjunct fellow with the Global Aging Initiative (GAI) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in. He is also visiting senior research fellow at the Ricoh Institute of Sustainability and Business in Tokyo and lecturer at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies in Kobe. He writes extensively on the economics of population aging and social security reform, especially in East Asia, and is the author or co-author of numerous policy studies, including Global Aging and the Future of Emerging Markets (2011); The Global Aging Preparedness Index (2010); China's Long March to Retirement Reform (2009); and The Aging of Korea (2007). He began his tenure at CSIS in October 2002 as a research intern with GAI and was subsequently promoted to research assistant in August 2003, to research associate in November 2004, to assistant director and fellow in January He has held the current position since March Nakashima holds an M.A. in international relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and a B.A. in Anglo-American studies from Kobe City University of Foreign Studies.
