From the first day of existence, Summit has been held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Since 2009, KAZANSUMMIT is held annually and strongly supported by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA). The aim of the KazanSummit is to strengthen trade and economic, scientifictechnical, social and cultural ties between Russia and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member countries, and to promote the Islamic financial institutions development in Russia. The Summit provides a chance to engage in an open dialogue on business, investment prospects and commercial trends in Russia and the Islamic World.
