This seminar will be held in Brussels, at the European Parliament, on Wednesday 21 st of October Enclosed as annexes 1 and 2, you will find the draft programme which is currently being finalised, as well as the event flyers in the English and French versions. It is of paramount importance that you take part in such an important seminar and we remind you that your attendance should be confirmed by 10 October with my colleague Layela Idir (l.idir@etf-europe.org). Since the event will take place in a big meeting room with a capacity of more than 100 seats, the ETF has been given the opportunity to come with a significant number of delegates. Each MTS affiliated organisation is therefore invited to make up its delegation which should not exceed 20 persons though. Please note for each participant, you are requested to provide the full names, date of birth, nationality and identity document number (ID/passport). The seminar will be a unique opportunity to get the message across to the MEPs and other EU policy makers on how tomorrow s EU maritime transport sector should become a generator of wealth and EU-based jobs. It is expected that the sponsoring MEPs, Ms. Isabelle Thomas (S&D France) and Ms. Lucy Anderson (S&D United-Kingdom), will reinforce this message by supporting our key claims and proposing concrete regulatory responses to address social dumping in European shipping.
2 Your active involvement during the debates will be required. In particular, the goal will be to provide concrete data to show the job insecurity for those Europeans who wish to make a living from a career at sea. The ETF Secretariat is therefore counting on your strong mobilisation to make the seminar a success. More information will be provided by the Secretariat closer to the date of the seminar.
