(FH) Regarding the new work item proposal (NWIP) which is proposed by ISIRI (I.R. IRAN) with the title "Animal feeding stuffs- Terminology" with the intention to set international standard/document to define the terms of animal feeding stuffs Germany does not agree because of following aspects: 1. Terms and definitions are already set and established by many organizations (e.g. Standards Commission for Straight Feeding Stuffs at the Central Committee of the German Agriculture Positive List for Straight Feeding Stuffs, 11th Edition) and especially by many legislative authorities in Europe and worldwide. Especially the terms and definitions which are part of the legislation for official feed control and enforcement in Europe (see Commissions Regulations No. 178/2002, 183/2005, 767/2009, 1831/2003, 68/2013) respectively worldwide (Codex alimentarius documents) could not be harmonized by ISO/TC 34/SC 10 especially when different terms and definitions are established worldwide. 2. The work to setup terms and definitions with the intention for harmonization will lead to "a never ending story" because there are already a lot of feed register and feed catalogue published (see above) which have different systematic structures: To have a look on them and to evaluate and compare them is a very big task. 3. Furthermore terms and definitions sometimes change or new ones will be established. Therefore the ISO standard has to be reviewed constantly to be up-to-date. 4. In our opinion the risk is too high that the motivation for this NWIP will get lost on the long run Comment to Q.5: See statement above and attached table of comments!
