2 Mr. Bimal Subedi President, SONSIK It is our great pleasure to welcome you to 12 th General Assembly of SONSIK which will be held from August 22 to August 23, 2015 in Sun Moon University, Asan. The Society of Nepalese Students in Korea (SONSIK), a nonprofit organization, is the registered sole student organization of Nepali students, academicians and intellectuals in the Republic of Korea. The Society was established in 2004 with an objective to promote academic, professional and other mutual interests through a wider, regular and more frequent exchange of ideas and views among the Nepali students studying in different academic institutions throughout South Korea. Since its inception, the Society has worked to build up an academic network among the Nepali students by easing the transition into Korean society and to create a common forum for exchange of ideas about research and other academic opportunities. SONSIK s major annual event, the General Assembly and Related activities has been the productive stage for representatives of all SONSIK members as well as invited representatives to review the aims and tasks of SONSIK. SONSIK 2015 General Assembly is comprised of a SONSIK Sports meet, SONSIK Night, Educational Poster Presentation and the General Assembly. Optional tour programs are available for you to engage and experience the traditional and cultural aspects of the city, Asan, and its surrounding nature. As the host AGM organizing main committee and local committee are making the utmost preparation to stage a successful and productive gathering for you to exchange the friendship and the brotherhood. We welcome you to the forthcoming Annual General Assembly, Meetings and related activities, and hope you to cherish unforgettable memory. 3 Mr.Dharma Raj Gautam Vice-President, SONSIK AGM Co-ordinator नमस क र, 안녕하세요, Hello, The 12th Annual General Meeting of the Society Of Nepalese Students In Korea (SONSIK) will be held in SunMoon University, Asan from August It gives me great pleasure and privilege as vice-president of the SONSIK and AGM coordinator to invite you all to participate in this great event. As we all know, SONSIK is a solo Nepalese student body established for the sharing, caring of our education, social issues and culture. With this all motto this year AGM committee have tried to accomplish the motto for your presence on the special event SONSIK 12th AGM. You ll feel homely when you join together for sports meet, poster presentation, SONSIK Night and THE 12th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. Experience a place where seniors, families and friends gather. Meet up at SONSIK AGM which features different events. Mix and mingle in modern public spaces where everyone can socialize, relax, and experience real connections that make a difference. When groups get together: SONSIK 12th AGM, great happens. Supporting and promoting always make a difference for the event, as well as the future of the organization where the event gives new executive member for SONSIK for its future. 4 Mr. Niranjan Koirala Local Co-ordinator Namaste I d like to welcome each of you to the SONSIK 12 th Annual general meeting organized by Society of Nepalese Students in Korea in Sun Moon University. It s an exciting time for all of us as we continue to grow and adapt, remaining always adaptable, motivated and responsive. Our organization is confronting a time of many changes and we re meeting these changes during a time of larger nation-wide and global change. We re transforming, the way we operate to continuously improve our ability to propel, excel and contribute to our society and country. Our friends, seniors and supporting partners have continued to support SONSIK and we are very thankful to all of them. We should all be very proud of where we are today and excited about where we are headed. As you attend these various organized events, keep in mind that other people can also serve as doorways to new worlds. Hearing of someone else's background and experiences can often make for fascinating discoveries that can educate and profoundly affect us. So take advantage of this rare gathering of hundreds of people working in the diverse fields to meet one another, talk with one another, and learn from one another. I d like to thank each of you for attending our AGM and bringing your expertise and suggestions to our gathering. You, as organization leaders, business policy makers, research scientists, students, have the vision, the knowledge and the experience to help us pave our way into the future. You are truly our greatest asset today and tomorrow, and we could not accomplish what we do without your support and leadership. 6 Sun Moon University is located at the center of Tangjung Crystal Valley and Asan New City, in the central region of Korea, equipped with a beautiful campus, excellent faculty members and state-of-the-art educational facilities. Also, our university is closest to the KTX (Korean Express Train) Cheonan- Asan Station. By ensuring a 40% room occupancy rate for registered students in the dormitory, Sun Moon provides the conditions for students to concentrate on their studies in a peaceful environment. Sun Moon University makes every effort to nurture young leaders with sound character and morality to lead the 21st century. In addition to character education, Sun Moon is committed to professional education equipped with the languages and technologies that are essential prerequisites for leading the global community. The flags from many nations wave in the blue sky over our beautiful, wide Sun Moon University campus. The bright smiles of 1,100 students from 64 countries around the world make the campus even brighter. The enthusiasm and laughter of the youth gives me greater hope for the future.

8 SONSIK AGM Committee would like to inform you all about the sport meet which is going to be held on 22nd August 2015 (First day of 12th AGM). Sports Meet Consist 4 types of games: 1. Football: -1 team from each VP area -Senior VS SONSIK EC -SONSIK VS VSAK 2. Volleyball: Any team with full member can register 3. Musical Chair: Open registration 4. Dodgeball Game Open Registration Note: No registration fee for sports *Must have AGM Full Registration 1 player 1 game only(football & Volleyball) For team: Coordinate with respective area EC representative or EC. 9 Competition Information This competition was created to inspire students to explore connections between multiple disciplines of study of Nepalese students in Korea and to update the participant several research interest of Nepalese students in Korea. How to Enter 1. Review the guidelines for entry. Entries that do not follow the Guidelines may be disqualified from the competition. 2. Register for the competition: Students intending to present posters must register for the competition by Saturday, August 15, Bring your poster along with you and Join us for the August 22-23, 2015, SONSIK 12th AGM. Judging will be done by SONSIK seniors team during the presentation. The registration for the poster presentation is free. Student Poster Competition Guidelines Eligibility The competition is open to all Nepalese undergraduate and graduate individual or group of Nepali students enrolled. Students may be enrolled in any discipline. Students enrolled in life science, physical science, social science, health, engineering or mathematics programs are especially encouraged to participate. Students may be enrolled in any accredited college or university. There is no geographic restriction. Each student or team of students may submit only one poster. If submitted by a team, one author must serve as the primary point of contact when registering the poster. All posters must reflect the original thoughts of the author(s). Students are welcome to present a poster previously presented in a professional society meeting, but must disclose both the venue, and the date of the presentation at the time of their presentation. The language of posters must be in English.
10 Poster Presentation The author of the poster, or a representative of the student team that prepared the poster, must present the poster for judging at SONSIK 12th AGM on Saturday, August 22, Students must print their posters, mount them on foam-core board, and bring them to the meeting. All posters must be displayed on easels, which will be provided by SONSIK on-site. Computer display equipment, sound or projection equipment, or freestanding displays are not permitted. All posters must be set up during the time allotted before 5 Pm on Saturday, August 22, 2015, and must remain up until the meeting ends that evening. Materials must then be removed promptly, by the end of the program on Sunday, August 23, SONSIK will not be responsible for material left on easels after the meeting. Poster Judging Posters will be judged by SONSIK seniors who are scientists, engineers, and health professionals as well as other experts with experience connecting science, technology and Social Science in their professional work The judges will consider each poster s relevance to the topic, the quality of argument demonstrated by the poster and the presentation, creativity in responding to the topic, the student s understanding of the topic as evidenced by the presentation, and overall effective communication of the student s ideas. Prizes The winning students will be recognized at the August 23, 2015 General meeting of the SONSIK. Winners of the competition will receive a cash prize along with certificates of commandments. Poster Design Free poster size. Poster elements should be mounted with an adhesive on 1/8 (.313 ) foam-core board. All posters should feature a title, your name(s), and the name of your university. Use color to add emphasis and clarity. Make illustrations simple and bold. Enlarge photos to show pertinent details clearly. Displayed materials should be self-explanatory, freeing you for discussion. Handouts with additional information about your poster topic may be made available for interested viewers. No demonstrations or three-dimensional displays are allowed. Posters that show lack of care as evidenced by grammatical, punctuation, spelling, and typographical errors are reviewed less favorably. The program will be composed of different talents (Like: Singing, Dancing, Short Stage Drama, etc...).
