Message from Chairman Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation is a dedicated social organization working in the field of arts, awareness, reconstruction and public service. Through these works, the foundation has been continuously working for the construction of better and prosperous Nepal. Construction of 20 earthquake resistant houses for earthquake victims of Pahari community in Kavre, 66 earthquake resistant houses for earthquake victims of Tamang community in Giranchour, Sindupalchowk and not the least, the construction of 53 handicap friendly and child friendly for humanity and welfare are some significant works all citizens have admired. Even then our foundation has continuously been working for repair and maintenance of these integrated settlements as well as towards uplifting the economic status of the people under these settlements. All these settlements have been made as per the rules and regulations of Nepal Government. Our only objective is to create a prosperous Nepal and help our government towards raising the status of all the citizens. As we were appointed as Cleanliness and Hygiene Ambassador from Nepal government, our noble dedication towards social work has now turned into duties and responsibilities towards our nation. Thus, we are now determined to commence our next project that would bring the whole nation together. We are very excited to start this new project that would be made in coordination with Nepal government. We would like to even put forward our proposal of doing all the efforts and works needed for this project expecting nation and government s coordination and guidance. Not only would this project be a mirror that reflects Nepal s culture, tradition, tribes and lifestyle but it would also be the very first tourist attraction centre that will help us and them to see, observe and study about Nepal and understand Nepal. Sitaram Kattel Chairman Dhurmus Suntali Foundation

1. Background: With the motto of Common and Prosperous Nepal, in between 500 to 1000 ropanis of land, a model Nepal will be made. Model Nepal will be a tourist centre reflecting cultural harmony representing the traditions and lifestyles of all the tribes of Nepal. Various constructions will be made which will not only attract national but international enthusiasts. Modern electronic and computerized technologies will enable to experience mountains, hills and plains leading to an information and entertainment hub. It will be a centre for those who want to see, observe and understand the culture, arts, traditions, history, science and technology of today s Nepal. In general, it will be a hub in entire world that will represent Nepal within Nepal. i) Modern Nepal will be a whole Nepal in itself. Modern electronic and computerized technologies will enable to experience mountains, hills and plains of Nepal. They will not just see the mountains but experience it. There will be a model mountain, monasteries, and Buddhist touch in this part. Technologies will enable to create snows where visitors can feel and experience the Himalayan feelings. As the visitors will observe the range of mountains and move through the underground tacks, they will find themselves in beautiful hilly settlements. ii) The visitors will arrive at the hilly area. There will be the attractions that reflect various cultural and religious aspects. All the imminent traditions of hilly regions can be seen and experienced. Through the use of technologies, rain will fall, clouds will appear, crops will be grown, and festivals will be celebrated in the most traditional way. Upon the completion of hilly regions, the visitors will find themselves in replica of Lumbini s Kapilvastu. iii) Kapilvastu will be a centre represntating the plain regions of Terai. The landscapes similar to Janakpur and Saptari, lifestyles, religions, traditions and
religious aspects as seen in Terai will represent this part of the project. Mini trains, entertainment centre, rivers, playgrounds will be the prime features. iv) The most vital thing is all the regions mentioned above will represent a diverse Nepal as a whole. As per the scientific data, one family from every diverse tribe will be chosen and settled in the residential parts. There will be a museum that showcases important aspects of Nepal. Conservation area and a zoo will be created. Various temples and religious monuments will be made. v) On the outer part, compounds and fences along with ring roads will be made. This will enable visitors to have easy access around the Model Nepal. In order to enable the viewing of all the construction, Dharahara (Bhimsen Pillar) s replica will be made as a view tower. 2. Project s Objective: All the construction that will be made inside Modern Nepal will resemble the unity and coordination among all the citizens of our country. The diversity of different castes, tribes, culture, languages can be studied and observed in one place. In short, the integrated settlement will be a hub for investigation and research and for those who wants to have a really good vacation in a perfect location. Model Nepal is of national unity, diversified community, tourist prioritized and a hub for all national and international mass.
3. Features of Model Nepal: Nepal inside Nepal i) A community or rather say integrated settlement that contains a whole image of Nepal. ii) A total of 125 families from different and diverse caste and tribes will settle their. They will among the most deprived and poor families. iii) The unity will be such that all the families will be in common courtyards and a single compound. The entry and exist gate for the settlement will be different. iv) The settlement will symbolize unity, coordination and welfare among each other as the settlement will be made on the scientific basics among the under privileged people. v) Bringing different communities together from different geographical regions (mountain, hills and plains) and bringing them together to prove that we Nepali can always stay and stick together as family. There will not be a slight feel of discrimination and racism. All we are focused on is to help create a settlement one but for everyone. vi) Modern Nepal will enable everyone to experience all of Nepal, no matter if it s physically, geographical, culture, lifestyles and every diverse aspect. This combination will make the Model Nepal one of the most beautiful attractions of the nation. vii) All the houses made inside the settlement will be similar and handover in the same basis with no discrimination. viii) The settlement will preserve all the cultural and religious moment within a same compound. There will be access of library, school, parking and all other necessary infrastructures. A big green park in itself with ponds and small rivers will add more natural feelings.
ix) A museum focused on culture and traditions of 125 different castes and tribes will be made so that everyone can feel pride in their history. x) Not only the museum will contain backgrounds of tribes and castes, but will contain different religious books, cultural backgrounds and significances, articles and books related to such, arts, and important messages as a complete research hub for the enthusiasts. xi) A Nepal within a Nepal will not only be a curiosity and attraction for few but for everyone residing in Nepal and those who wants to know Nepal from one particular place. xii) All the geographical regions made in the settlement will be connected by trails, trains and underground subways and will have the coldness as of mountains, shades as in hills and lightness as in Terai. The very reason would be to give the natural feelings and experiences wherever visitor touches the feet. 4. Project s Need and Importance: To help visitors understand Nepal in One-shot. To give bold message regarding prosperity of Nepal. To implement harmony and welfare in parallel. To create a roadmap in development of our country. To create harmony of togetherness and unity. To show a natural Nepal at a place. To see, observe, touch, feel and experience the diversity of Nepal. To raise a feeling of us from me and a pride of being a Nepalese.
5. Management Committee: As this project is highly ambitious, it would be better to have the leadership of Nepal Government. This is the first tourist attraction representing culture, tradition and harmony. Thus it is very important that we take advises and suggestion of experts and that role would be highly effective. Beside our experience in reconstruction and nation development of making three integrated settlements would add a lot of boosts, motivation and experience in this ambitious project of Model Nepal. 6. Roles of Nepal Government: As per the needs and demands required to complete this project, Nepal government would have following roles: Finding a suitable location within the consent of the government and the foundation for the project. Development of infrastructures such as electricity, water supply, roads, communication, internet and necessary infrastructures up to the project site. Coordination and mediator between departments and local authorities. Leadership, controlling and monitoring of the construction of Model Nepal. 7. Roles of Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation: Commitment of a dedicated team, and mobilization of peoples and public. Fund raising of the estimated budget from and outside Nepal. Controlling and monitoring of the construction. Promotion and advertisement of the project.
