3 16:15 16:45 COFFEE BREAK & GROUP FORMATION PARALLEL GROUP SESSIONS Med Culture has contributed to empowering cultural practitioners through learning new skills and tools. It will continue this process while focusing on promoting an environment that values success and that contributes to building a more resilient society. We identified a number of outstanding themes based on Med culture experience. The space is now yours to present and discuss your needs and priority actions relative to these themes. GROUP 1 How can Med Culture contribute to the process of building resilient societies? The EU global strategy defines resilience as "a broad concept encompassing all individuals and the whole of society" that features "democracy, trust in institutions and sustainable development, and the capacity to reform". Support to resilience at all levels is also an integral part of the new European Consensus on Development. The Joint Communication develops this idea and sets out ten guiding considerations that practitioners can use when translating the concept into concrete action 1. It supposes the effectiveness of working on prevention through empowerment. What course of action / activities can be proposed that could help young people identify their own tracks, develop their critical thinking, and reinforce their place in their communities? Facilitators: Mohammad ALAZAIZEH, Youcef BOUGHRIET GROUP 2 What main issues should Med Culture address to promote employability of Youth? The employability of youth is a major topic in addressing youth engagement and their integration within the economic life of their community on the long term. In fact, many support the theory that youth employability is the answer to developing peaceful inclusive societies. What concrete activities can you propose that link youth to employment and the world of work. Facilitators: Nour BEN ABDALLAH, Angie BALATA, Ahlem SOUALHIA GROUP 3 Mobilising arts to address social concerns Med Culture has contributed to raise the capacity of local artists and NGOs and to raise awareness on the high potential of participatory street art to generate social dialogue and thus social cohesion. How can arts initiatives (in theatre, dance, music, literary arts, cinema, and more) be more effective as innovative forms of collective social inquiry and action? What are the priorities to address further social issues through cultural activities? Facilitators: Yasmine BENTOUNES, Wahiba GHANEM GROUP 4 Communication, awareness raising and media Public awareness and the involvement of the media are part of the multiplier effects the Med Culture programme aims for. How best to establish frameworks that engage public participation and address social issues? How to broaden communication, awareness campaigns and integrate new voices, while working hand in hand with the media? Facilitators: Russol AL NASSER, Zeinab ARTEIL, Izz ALJABARI 1 release_memo _en.htm 3/5 Hydea S.p.A. Via del Rosso Fiorentino, 2g Florence Italy
