However he could not provide the details of the manufacturer and whether the refurbishing done in 2016 was by the OEM. The applicant also stated that the normal life of such equipment is 15 years and is extended atleast by 8-10 years after refurbishment. The Committee agreed to review the case on receipt of the following information : i) The original manufacturer of the equipment and whether the refurbishment was done by OEM; ii) In case the equipment becomes non-functional within 5 years, an undertaking from the supplier or the principal of the company in the US to take it back. The applicant should submit the evidence with regard to aforesaid suggestions to this Ministry for further consideration of case for import, till then the case is deferred. Page 7 of 20

List of users N/A The application was considered in the 73rd Meeting of Expert Committee held during 25th and 26th October The Committee noted the suggestions made by CPCB in their inspection report, the unit has to carry out following improvements: Page 8 of 20

9 i. Provide dedicated and properly shade space for storage of raw material and waste material; ii. Provide adequate stack height as per consent order. the port hole and monitoring platform should be provided with stacks according to CPCB Emission Regulation-III; iii. Provide pulsating mechanism with bag house and should make efforts to minimize fugitive emissions. The bag house of coal crushing unit should also be covered and equipped with mechanical pulsating system for dust collection; iv. The unit should monitor the emissions from the stack and should provide appropriate system i.e. alkali scubber, if required, to meet gaseous emissions (SO2 and NO2) standards prescribed in the consent issued under Air Act 1981 and also a well designed ETP in light of SOP. The matter will be considered after submission of the compliance of the aforesaid suggestions to this Ministry. Provide small ETP consisting of physio wschemical treatment for scrubbed water ; iv. Maintenance of records for disposal of dross, manifest system and intimation to SPCBs for transposition of waste to other state ; v. Proper shed to be provided over the cement platform where raw material/scrap unloaded outside shed.. Now the applicant informed that they have carry out the changes as suggested by the Committee and submitted photographs as proof of the improvements. The applicant has now submitted the evidence with regard to aforesaid. The Committee recommended that the applicant should first obtain the authorization to process the above stated waste from the concerned SPCB, only thereafter the case can be considered further for import.
