Opening and introductions The Chair and Co-chair welcomed the meeting participants, appreciated their active participation, punctually and usual support to the GBV SC. Opening remarks followed by the round of introduction. 2. CHF process and way forward Members were briefed that in the second standard allocation of CHF, out of USD five millions for the Protection mainstreaming and integration, US$ 750,000 were allocated to GBV AoR. GBV SC facilitated 11 organizations proposals worth USD 1.8 million. Recognition of GBV as main issue in humanitarian program delivery and OCHA HFU strategy which made it mandatory to integrate Protection in all the proposals. Accordingly, psychosocial counselling which is the basic component of the GBV has been integrated in the proposals as main pillar. 1

2 Members were further briefed that all the GBV proposals have qualified and the participation organizations got comments to address. The eligible action date would be October 1 st,, and once the project contracts are awarded, the GBV SC will have individual meetings with these members to see how we can go ahead. Based on the agreement in the meeting and members recommendations, GBV SC shall develop uniform reporting and monitoring tools for qualifying members. Members shall also be sharing human interest stories and case studies featuring GBV issues based on interventions. This shall generate evidence based knowledge and shall also help in cross fertilization of the acquired knowledge. 3. Quarter Three (Q3) Reporting All GBV SC members in general and IMC, YHDO, APA, and HNTPO should furnish the report for the quarter 3 (July, August & September) of. The report will be of GBV indicators such as; 1. The number of health workers (healthcare providers) trained on clinical management of GBV survivors or trained on the psycho-social services, 2. Number of dignity kits distributed, 3. Outreach responsive PSS. 4. Establishment/maintenance of women friendly health spaces and women and girls reached 5. Provision of survivor centered multi-sectoral services to GBV survivors, including health, psychosocial, legal and safety 6. # of people [men, boys and community/religious elders] reached through GBV Community mobilization The members were informed that the deadline for providing these information is October 9,. Members who are providing GBV services under funding other than CHF are also have to report. The reports shall help to generate evidence-based information to support GBV advocacy. GBV SC rendered services to all members in preparation of concept notes and proposals to mainstream GBV. 4. Monthly returnees and IDPs update Brief information about IDPs and returnees situation for the month of September was presented to the members. It was observed that the trend of returnees/deportees from Iran is constant and it is more like a silent emergency. So far IOM and Relief International along-with some Government bodies are working in Nimroz province. For IDPs, north, north eastern and southern regions are the hotspots. 2

Partners mapping matrix As part of the efforts to further assist members in improved information about GBV services across Afghanistan, GBV SC, with the information from partners and support from Protection Cluster Information Management Officer (IMO), has started the partners and services mapping. The matrix was shared with members after the last meeting. Members once again briefed that GBV SC is converting presence of its members at the field level in to maps. Members were requested to provide their updated inputs even their GBV programs/projects are under their own bilateral funds as these maps will help and strengthen referral pathways. It was decided that the matrix will be shared again with members so that those members who have not yet provided their inputs are to provide it. 6. Follow up on lessons learned and best practices template In order to have the field knowledge captured and converted in asset in organized manner, the GBV SC developed tri-lingual lessons learnt and best practices template. The template was presented to members for their feedback/suggestions and further utilization. All members to fill it out in any language (Dari or Pashto or English) to capture the best practice and lessons learnt for improve future programming. Members were briefed that the aim of this template is to convert all the information available at the field level and knowledge into asset. 7. AoB Members were informed that UNPFA with support of Italian corporation and HEWAD organization would be implementing sexual and reproductive health project in 4 provinces namely, Nimroz, Hirat, Kunduz and Baghlan. They were briefed that it is the comprehensive set of GBV and 3

4 reproductive health service. There would be WFHSs, FPCs and mobile teams. 24 hours services at the border point of Nimruz province would be available. Professor Zalmai Wafayar Deputy Dean of Psychology Faculty, Kabul University provided members information on background of the Psychology Faculty. He said that the Faculty of Psychology consists of six departments. The most notable departments are general psychology, Guiding and Counselling. Members were informed that the Psychology Faculty will have 21 graduates in the year, out of which 7 are girl students. This year, 50 new students have been enrolled, 80% of them are girl students. He added that the aim of Psychology Faculty is to support affected individuals and groups such as IDPs, returnees, natural disasters affected, refugees and support and protection of children. He concluded his speech by thanking the GBV SC and requested the members to extend their any possible support towards this Psychology Faculty.
