3 Don Don Bosco Ngangi is a Salesian run center in Goma located in the northeastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo

4 Goma is located in South Kivu province, the heart of the warfare that has claimed 6 million lives in the Congo since 1996.

6 The presence of UN peace keeping forces and it s location on the border, have made Goma the receipient of the massive human wave of refugees fleeing the conflict and atrocities

8 Like other Don Bosco Centers around the world, Don Bosco Ngangi was founded to minister to children and youths.

9 Since 1988 the center has provided schooling, food and lodging and spiritual care to orphans, abandoned and displaced children. The Center now cares for over 3, 500 children

10 The large influx of refugees to the area, motivated the center to expand its services ease the suffering and address the needs of this population

11 The center now provides housing to almost 2000 refugees within its walls

12 They have added a feeding center

13 They provide medical care and support to surrounding refugee camps

14 The addition of a medical center now provides desperately needed medical care to the children of the center and the local refugee population.

15 The medical center consist of a clinic, hospital, cholera ward and nutritional center for severe cases of malnutrition.

19 With the tender heart of a mother, Vicky serves food to the little babies. It takes more than food to restore good health. It takes affection and nurturing to restore appetites and well being. Bon Appetit Children!

20 Many babies in Center were found in tears besides the lifeless bodies of their parents

21 Their small bodies ravaged by the effects of war and starvation, these children may once again know the feel of a loving touch and a full stomach

24 Companion of war and catastrophe, Cholera hit Don Bosco Ngangi on October 28 th 2008.More than 250 cases were cared for without a single death

30 In the infant population of Goma, sepsis and respiratory distress syndrome are common. Sadly, without oxygen, they bring certain death!

34 There is joy in being able to ease patient s suffering and helping them regain their health. This HIV positive mother and child will live much longer thanks to the care they received at Ngangi After treatment

35 Rising above borders and religious beliefs, it is only man that counts; his dignity, his well being, his health, and his ability to spread love both near and far

37 The Ngangi Medical Center urgently needs support ands medical equipment to bring live saving aid to children and refugees victimized by warfare. The center currently has no way to administer oxygen or other basic life saving measures to it s sickest patients Medicine and IV solutions are often in short supply The ever increasing refugee population is straining the ability of the center to provide sufficient food and clean water Please Help!
