2 About KAUSA: KAUSA = Koordinierungsstelle Ausbildung und Migration (coordination unit vocational training and migration) Founded in 1999, since 2006 KAUSA is part of the JOBSTARTER programme, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research and by the European Social Fund

3 About KAUSA: Aims of KAUSA: Convincing employers with migration background of vocational training, increasing the participation of young migrants and refugees in the field of vocational training, informing migrant parents about vocational training Since October 2013 JOBSTARTER supports 32 KAUSA service points

5 Background information: Employers with migration background train less often young people than employers without migration background (Average: 20,3% of enterprises in Germany offer vocational training) In Germany every fifths person has a migration background (21%), in the age cohort years: 28,5% (Source: Statistisches Bundesamt 2017)

6 Background information: Young people with migration background comparatively have a lower education: 18,7% have a certificate of secondary education and 6% have no school leaving certificate at all Young people without migration background: 13,4% have a certificate of secondary education and 2,2% have no school leaving certificate at all (Source: Statistisches Bundesamt 2017)

7 Background information: The most disadvantaged candidates for vocational trainings are young people with turkish or arabic origin (Source: BA/BIBB-Bewerberbefragung 2016) When we compare young people with and without migration background with the same school leaving certificate, migrants get less often the chance to start a vocational training (34%) than young people without migration background (51%) (Source: Ursula Beicht - Ausbildungschancen von Ausbildungsstellenbewerbern und -bewerberinnen mit Migrationshintergrund, Aktuelle Situation 2016 und Entwicklung seit 2004)

This course gives future trainers the opportunity to prepare for the examination AEVO in Delmenhorst. Every interested person can attend this course.
