Immigrants, countries of emigration and countries of immigration as actors of integration ,69 The project aims at the coordination of research activities through the following activities: 1: State of the art: systematic literature review in an effort to inventory existing knowledge on the direct impact of actual links between migrants and their origin countries on their integration in host countries. 2: Network building: setting up a network of scientific correspondents bridging the EU and the origin countries of its immigrants that will draw on existing networks already gathered by the EUI, ULG UPF and MPI. 3: Database building: constructing a database providing the state of the art on integration and the role of origin countries. It will comprise: a library section providing the academic literature on the topic; a raw data section providing statistics, legislations and policy documents; and a survey section. 4: Research: on the topic of TCNs integration in EU member states by concentrating on the role of the societies and states of origin in this process. Its results are expected to enrich those produced by existing programmes, notably those carried out in the EU by research centres coordinated in the framework of IMISCOE. 2. 2 ImpleMentoring - city-to-city support for migrant integration sets out to enable European cities, in particular from Central/Eastern and Southern European Member States to address implementation gaps in migrant integration policies and practices. It is designed under the assertion that all cities can benefit and learn from one another's experience and thus improve their practices in the field of migrant integration. The project is underpinned by the framework of the EUROCITIES Integrating Cities Charter in which cities commit to make a marked improvement in the lives of migrants and sets out to consolidate these commitments and increase the number of signatory cities in Europe. 3. CJD -Christliches Jugenddorfwerk Deutschlands (DE) Centre for International Relations- CIR (PL) University of Stockholm (Stockholms Universitet) - Department of Political Science (SE) Universidad Pompeu Fabra, Interdisciplinary Research Group in Immigration - GRITIM (ES) Istituto Psicoanalitico per le Richerche Sociali IPRS (IT) The Integration Centre (IE) Migration Policy Group - MPG (BE) Alto Comissariado para a Imigração e Diálogo Intercultural ACIDI - (PT) Diversity in Political Parties Programmes, Organisation and Representation ,44 The aim of the project is to initiate, assess and support diversity development processes with regard to ethnic diversity in major political parties in member states. The project both raises awareness and develops practical tools to promote diversity development in parties, particularly at the national level, and enhances the chances of participation for TCN in parties. Parties are central agents of societal development and have a responsibility to incorporate diversity and influence the development of related issues in all areas of society. Improving participation opportunities for TCN in party politics is essential to increasing the influence of TCN in decision-making processes and their place as agents in the democratic system.

Centro Internazionale di Formazione dell'organizzazione Internazionale del Lavoro (IO) Forum Italiano ed Europeo di Ricerche sull'immigrazione FIERI (IT) The Chancellor, Masters and Scholars of the University of Oxford - Centre on Migration, Policy and Society COMPAS (UK) European Migrant Integration Academy - an integrated research and cooperative learning project to reinforce integration capacities in European cities ,05 EU-MIA (European Migrant Integration Academy) is a research-based cooperative learning and training initiative targeting and directly involving public officials and other local stakeholders responsible for the development and implementation of local level integration policies in selected European cities. EU-MIA aims at drawing innovative training tools from a pool of scattered experiences, through carefully designed research methods and with the cooperation of selected cities and other stakeholders. The materials thus produced shall be put into practice during the pilot-edition of the Migrant Integration Academy to be held in the Fall 2013, in the premises of the Turin-based ITC-ILO. EU-MIA aims at establishing dynamic and operational connections between researchers, practitioners and training institutions thereby structurally innovating in the way in which local integration policies are generated and implemented in the EU. 5. ACRA- Cooperazione Rurale in Africa e America Latina (IT) FORMAPER- Formazione e Servizi per l'imprenditorialità (IT) CO.LI.DO.LAT- Coordinamento Ligure Donne Latinoamericane (IT) SA-Fundation Sevilla Acoge (ES) FAMSI-Fondo Andaluz de Municipios Para la Solidaridad Internacional (ES) IMVF- Instituto Marques de Valle Flor (PT) CAAD Belgique asbl (BE) Behind the threshold - Improving migrants integration through economic and financial skills and knowledge ,02 The project s objective is to enhance migrants integration in Italy, Portugal, Spain and Belgium by helping them become financially secure and independent. This will be achieved by supporting their entry into employment and favouring their access to financial services. The activities supporting the entry into employment will focus on two main themes: 1. Small enterprise development among migrant communities; 2. Vocational and professional trainings to enhance migrant s skills; 3. Activities supporting the access to financial services by migrant communities, e.g. a financial education module.

ČLOVĚK V TÍSNI, O.P.S (CZ) Migrant Voice (UK) CESVI (IT) SOS Racismo Guipuzkoa (ES) Face 2 Face: Facilitating dialogue between migrants and European citizens ,30 Face 2 Face project aims to break down negative stereotypes and improve public perception of migrants and the phenomenon of migration by creating strong and longlasting basis for interaction and dialogue between migrants and members of receiving communities. Since a large part of the project will take place in 2013, the European Year of Citizenship, the project seeks to bring attention to the wider definition of citizen, meaning a person who is linked to a country by rights, but also by responsibility to the society. With Face 2 Face, partner organisations want to emphasize that migrants are an integral part of European societies. The most effective way to fight xenophobic attitudes towards migrants is by providing members of the public with concrete facts and tangible personal links with migrants.

(DE) Soros International House (LT) Centro Studi ed Iniziative Europeo (IT) Organisation of Iberoamerican States (ES) European Multicultural Foundation (UK) Feel it! - Feel the Difference ,65 "Feel it! - Feel the Difference" is a project, which tries not to accentuate the differences between people and ethnic groups, but to highlight the diversity and cultural richness. The project plans to engage the general public and change negative perceptions of migration and diversity. The key focus of this project is to promote the opportunities that diversity brings by designing a path of diversity, creating specific curricula for project work with teenagers in the classroom as well as accompanying it with a multi media campaign. 9. International Organization for Migration (IO) Volunteer Ireland (IE) Dublin City Council (IE) HOF (NL) CSV (UK) The Integration Centre (IE) Grassroots Integration through Volunteering ,21 The GIVE project will establish and strengthen mechanisms for engaging migrants in community volunteering in project participating countries through a range of activities, including awareness raising, information provision, training and sensitization both amongst potential migrant participants, volunteer hosting organisations, and Migrant Led Organisations/NGOs. The overall objective of GIVE is to enhance immigrant participation in aspects of collective life, and to support the creation of inclusive neighbourhoods and bottom up initiatives for local participation. The programme will also contribute to enhanced public perception of migration and diversity through a public awareness campaign.
