The Seconder may either sign on the Nomination Paper or write letter to the proposer seconding the nomination and this letter must be enclosed with the Nomination Paper. 3. Only the Life Members of ISEB shall be eligible for election to the Fellowship of ISEB. The candidates elected as Fellow of ISEB can write FISEB after their names. 2. The number of Fellows elected by the Society shall be limited to ten annually. Out of these, up to 2 Fellowships may be awarded to eminent scientists who are not the Life Members of ISEB. The fellowship will be awarded to the scientists who have made significant research contribution in the field of Ecology and Environmental Science. Those plant scientists who may not be hard-core ecologists/ environmental scientists but have contributed significantly towards the mitigation of environmental problems and are the Life Members of ISEB will also be eligible for the award of ISEB Fellowship. 3. One or two eminent scientists who have done outstanding research in Ecology and Environmental Science may be recommended by the Fellowship Committee for the award of Honorary Fellowship of ISEB. The Life Membership of ISEB is not mandatory for such scientists. 4. Each nominee will be proposed and seconded by two fellows of ISEB on a nomination form prescribed for the purpose. The Fellow of ISEB, who proposes the nomination of a candidate, will certify from his/her personal knowledge of the nominee s scientific achievements. The nomination will be seconded by another Fellow of ISEB. The nomination made for the Fellowship will remain in good standing for a period of 5 years. If the nominee is not elected during this period, he/she may be re-nominated after a gap of 2 years. 5. Any nominee who canvasses for support for his election to the Fellowship shall be disqualified for election as the Fellow of ISEB. 6. The last date for submitting nomination papers shall be the 30th April every year, and the decision about the election to the Fellowship will be taken by the end of July on the recommendation of the Fellowship Committee constituted for the purpose. 5

6 7. The Fellowship Committee shall recommend not more than 12 candidates for election to the Fellowship of ISEB. The list of recommended candidates will be submitted to the Joint Secretary ISEB & Convener Fellowship Affairs, International Society of Environmental Botanists, CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Rana Pratap Marg, Lucknow , India (Phone: , Mobile no: , in a sealed cover. The Joint Secretary ISEB will place the list in the meeting of the Executive Council of ISEB. The E.C. will consider the list of candidates recommended by the Fellowship Committee and shall finally select up to 10 candidates for the award by ISEB Fellowship. Cessation of Fellowship: Any Fellow may withdraw from the Society by signifying his/her wish to do so, by a letter addressed to the Secretary. The letter of withdrawal may be cancelled, at the request of the sender, within six months of its receipt by the Secretary. If any Fellow of the Society willfully disobeys Rules or Orders of the Society or Council, or commits willful breach of order at any of the Meetings, or persists in any disobedience or breach of order, after having been admonished by the President, or indulges in any such activity which brings dishonour to ISEB, he/she shall cease to be a Fellow and shall be liable to be removed from the Society. Fellowship fee: A nominal Fellowship Fee amounting to Rs. 2000/- (Rupees two thousand only) will be chargeable from the newly elected Fellows to meet the necessary expenses towards making the fellowship certificate and an attractive logo to be presented to the Fellows.
