1 Notice for Election for various post of IAPSM ( ) Dear Members, IAPSM is inviting Nominations for the election of the following posts of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine: Posts for IAPSM Election Sr. Post (fees) 1 President (Rs. 3000) 2 Executive Members (Rs. 1500) 3 Editorial Board (Rs. 1500) Number Eligibility One Have been a life member of the Society for the preceding three years, Have been a teacher in the specialty of Preventive and Social Medicine for 15 years, and Have participated in at least three Annual Conferences of the Society. Twelve (Two from each zone) Twelve (Two from each zone) North West Zones* Minimum qualifying experience of 5 years as Member of IAPSM Have attended at least two Annual Conferences of IAPSM. States J&K, Punjab, HP, Chandigarh, Haryana. Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Daman & Diu. North Central South Central East Delhi, UP, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand. MP, Chhatisgarh WB, Orissa, Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal, Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, Andaman & Nicobar South Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, Karnataka, AP, Telangana, Lakshadweep * For zonal posts, members from respective zones will be eligible as a candidate and for voting, members from states under respective zones will have voting right for respective posts.
2 Additional detail about eligibility criteria, duties/responsibilities for the posts and their duration are given in the constitution of IAPSM. Candidates nominating for post of President should send a demand draft/at par cheque/online transfer of Rs. 3000/- (Three thousands only) and those for the post of the member of Governing Council and Editorial Board should send a demand draft/at par cheque/online transfer Rs. 1500/- (One thousand and five hundreds only) along with the duly filled nomination form and undertaking for abiding Code of conduct to Note : Dr. A.M. 3 IAPSM Election Code of Conduct Following are the components of the code of conduct: A. Electioneering a) The following actions are Not Allowed by contestants as well as supporters and well wishers:- a. Advertisements in lay press, any kind of press release and interviews about IAPSM election. b. Placement of banners with personal names anywhere in the country. c. Hosting of tea/lunch/dinner/cocktail parties for fellow members from IAPSM, other than Weddings in Immediate Family for which the EC has to be informed before & written permission taken by EC, with submission of Proof i.e. Wedding Card. d. Negative propaganda about fellow contestants. e. Use of pressure, inducement or coercion to get votes from fellow IAPSM members. f. Impersonation of an eligible voter of IAPSM. b) Appeals are allowed in the form of s/print/electronic media like election letters/ brochures / SMS / Telephone/social media. c) Appeals can also be made in the IAPSM Official publications print or electronic media. B. IAPSM programs: Slide shows, Posters, distribution of Pamphlets, etc of Contestants inside the venue of any IAPSM activity is strictly prohibited. Candidate should not involve in hosting dinners or any other social programs. Breach of Code of Conduct : if:- a) A written / complaint is received about the conduct of a contestant from a member of IAPSM and confirmed by the EC after investigation. (The complainant has to declare his/her name, IAPSM number & all relevant details needed to identify him/her as a legitimate member of IAPSM.) b) Breach of code of conduct is observed by any of the Election panel. The breach is proved with 'documentary' proof (audio/visual/print/electronic). A documented breach of code of conduct by a contestant may be punishable by disqualification of his / her candidature by Election panel. Any impersonation or other fraud will be reported to the Police / Medical Council of India /other appropriate authority within the Jurisdiction of the suspected fraud. The decision of the Election panel will be final & binding. 5. All contestants will give in writing their acceptance to abide by the code of conduct 1 week before election.
