1 _9"MEFtNF'B PUBLIC HEARING AGENDA ITEM DATE: May 19,2015 SUBJECT: Appointment of a new member to the Adams County Board of Community Corrections FROM: Linda Angell AGENCY!DEPARTMENT: County Attorney RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the Board of County Commissioners appoint Shannon Carson as a Member of the Adams County Community Corrections Board BACKGROUND: The resignation of Greg Petner from the Adams County Community Corrections Board (ACCCB) has created a vacancy. Ms. Shannon Carson has been recommended to fill that vacancy by the Colorado State Public Defender's office and the ACCCB. It is requested that Shannon Carson be appointed to serve the remainder of Greg Petner's term to expire on AGENCIES, DEPARTMENTS OR OTHER OFFICES INVOLVED: ATTACHED DOCUMENTS: Resolution Resignation of Mr. Greg Petner Nomination of Ms. Shannon Carson Page 1 of2

3 RESOLUTION APPOINTING SHANNON CARSON AS A MEMBER TO THE COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS BOARD WHEREAS, a vacancy currently for a member of the Adams County Community Corrections Board; and WHEREAS, Shannon Carson has been nominated to and has expressed an interest in serving on the Adams County Community Corrections Board; and, WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems Shannon Carson as qualified to sit on the Adams County Community Corrections Board; and, WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners selects Shannon Carson to fill the above noted vacancy. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners, County of Adams, State of Colorado, that Shannon Carson Shall be appointed as a member of the Adams County Community Corrections Board with a term expiration date of January 31, 2017.
