2 Criminal & Infraction Public Records Search (CIPRS) Improvement 1 5,300 searches every day Statewide rollout to 00 public terminals and clerks completed March 1, 016 Uses intelligent name search algorithm to find exact and similar name matches Provides ability to case information Searches roughly 4.7 million criminal cases and 4.5 million infraction cases Demo available immediately after this meeting Can display up to 377 data points for a case Judicial Branch IT Update April 14, Online Collection and Payment (OCAP) Improvement Pilot started in New Hanover February 1, 016; expanded to Chatham and Wake Statewide rollout complete by May 31, 016 Probation payments accepted online 4/7 Web application Mobile friendly Real time case lookup reflects the case immediately upon judgment confirmation and probation officer notification (if desired) Judicial Branch IT Update April 14, 016 4

3 Electronic Compliance and Dismissal (ECAD) Improvement 3 Pilot in Wake County mid May 016; Wake County estimates ECAD eligible offenses represent 30+% of their motor vehicle cases Statewide rollout July 016 Interface with NCDMV data for automatic validation Cases are electronically dismissed when approved by the DA / ADA No document scanning and uploading needed No cost to the defendants to use ECAD Judicial Branch IT Update April 14, Infrastructure Readiness Projects Increase digital / electronic storage capacity Replace 30 million pieces of paper ~ 4 miles of files per year Increase statewide network speed and capacity Establish real time data replication for business continuity and disaster recovery Implement high availability features to ensure continuous operations Requires ongoing funds to maintain enhanced capacity and speed Strengthens a myriad of interfaces between court computer systems and many other state, local, and federal agencies, such as DMV, DPS, SBI, DHHS, DOR, and law enforcement agencies Judicial Branch IT Update April 14,
