Yes Aetna Government Relations identifies issues that affect our company, our industry, our employees and the communities we serve. We share our point of view with members of Congress, state officials and other policy makers. And Aetna uses multiple resources to advocate and advance its position on public policy issues within the State and Federal political, legislative and regulatory environments. And Lobbying is the practice of communicating with government officials about matters that are important to Aetna. Lobbying is strictly regulated by Federal and State government rules and Aetna s own policies. Does Aetna disclose any board oversight of direct corporate lobbying? Yes Aetna management regularly discusses public policy issues with our Board of Directors, including Government Affairs priorities and political risks. Given the importance of public policy to our business in recent years, every regularly scheduled board meeting has included an agenda item to address public policy matters. In addition, our Board of Directors annually reviews the company s list of Government Affairs priorities, its contributions criteria and its involvement criteria.
