Camuso, called the Twenty Sixth Regular Meeting of the Medford City Council to order at 7:00 P.M. at the Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium, Medford City Hall. ROLL CALL SALUTE TO THE FLAG RECORDS The Tabled Records of June 17, 2014 were passed to Vice President Caraviello. The Tabled Records of June 24, 2014 were passed to Councillor Dello Russo. 2 You are hereby notified that by order of the Medford City Council, a Public Hearing will be given at the Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, City Hall, Medford, Massachusetts at 7:00 P.M., on TUESDAY, August 12, 2014 on a petition by National Grid of North Andover, MA., for permission to locate poles, wires, and fixtures including the necessary sustaining and protecting fixtures, along and across the following public way: James Street-National Grid to install 30 +/- of 2-4 PVC conduit from P-6081 to customer s property line at 21 James Street Wherefore it prays that after due notice and hearing as provided by law, it be permission to excavate the public highways and to run and maintain underground electric conduits together with such sustaining and protecting fixtures as it may find necessary for the transmission of electricity. Said underground conduits to be located substantially in accordance with the plan filed herewith marked National Grid dated 05/1/2014 Approved Chief Engineer Upon review of this petition, the Engineering Department based on the Engineers review, that this work can proceed forthwith provided the following requirements are met; No City Owned or private utilities or other structures are adversely impacted. National Grid shall ensure that all sewer, water and drain lines are marked prior to any excavation. Before beginning work the contractor shall notify Dig Safe and shall obtain applicable permits from the Engineering Division. National Grid shall complete all restoration in accordance with City of Medford regulations and standards as well as for removing all debris related to its work. This baseball game is open to all young women and men with physical disabilities Offered by Vice President Caraviello: Be It Resolved that the Medford City Council commend and congratulate Pellegrino Garozzo, more popularly known as "Pino" on his retirement. Pino has been a tailor for 45 years and many of those years in Medford Square. He will be missed in Medford Square especially on Saturdays for lunch. We wish him well on his retirement Offered by Councillor Marks Be It Resolved that Medford resident and long time businessman Pellegrino (Pino) Garozzo be recognized by the Medford City Council for his recent retirement. Pino was the owner of Pino's Men's Shop & Tailoring in Medford Square for over 45 years. Mr Garozzo served Medford residents with top quality tailoring and service and was a staple in our square for many years. 4

5 Offered by Councillor Marks Be It Resolved that the Medford City Council recognize long time Medford resident Juliet Garabedian for celebrating her 100th birthday. 8 COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR August 4, 2014 To The Honorable President and Members of the Medford City Council City Hall Medford, MA Dear Mr. President and Councillors: I respectfully request and recommend that your Honorable Body approve of the following Amendments to Revised Ordinances entitled, Compensation Plan and Leave Ordinances, Chapter 66, Personnel : CITY OF MEDFORD AMENDMENT TO REVISED ORDINANCES COMPENSATION PLAN AND LEAVE ORDINANCES CHAPTER 66, PERSONNEL BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Medford in Chapter 66 entitled Personnel Article II entitled Classification and Compensation Plans Section entitled Public Works Personnel and Section (b)entitled Building Services Personnel are hereby amended as follows: Section 1. In subsection effective June 30, 2013, add two and one-half percent (2.5%) of the present amount of each step within the grades shown below, to the said present amount of each step and adjust the sum thus obtained to the nearest and highest figure for each grade: PW-23; PW-22.5; PW-22:PW-21; PW-20; PW-19; PW-18; PW- 17; PW-16; PW-15; PW-14; PW-13; PW-12; PW-11; PW-10; PW-9; PW-8; PW-7; PW- 6; PW-5.5; PW-5; PW-4 and PW-3. Section 2.
