Thank you for providing me the opportunity to serve as the President these past 12 months. Despite the nagging fear that under my leadership our Annual Meeting would be a colossal disaster, somehow with the help of my fellow board members the meeting came off without a hitch. Ok there may have been one or two hitches but they were very minor and hopefully they went unnoticed by the meeting attendees. Continued on Next page,
2 Continued from Prior Page The Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort was an excellent venue for our meeting. The location was beautiful and the weather was great, with plenty of sunshine to go around. We had a great lineup of speakers who provided updates on Accounting, Auditing, Obama Care, and National Politics. We were brought up to speed on current economic events, how to work with the new millennial generation and some great insight on risk management. We had a total of 30 attendees plus a number of guests that came along to enjoy the beach and hotel. We had 9 golfers who took the personal challenge of trying to master the Ocean Links Golf Course. A total of 14 brave souls enjoyed and delightful River Cruise to explore the beautiful beaches and islands that surround Amelia Island. Countless others soaked up the sun by the pool or the ocean and took advantage of the great weather. Other than a few sunburns everyone made it back in one piece and with great experiences. For those of you that were unable to attend this year s event I encourage you to come to our annual meeting next year in Nashville, TN. It is a great way to make new acquaintances, share insight, and collect CPE s while listening to timely topics and a strong line-up of speakers. I look forward to working with our new President, Adam Lawrence, to making the 2014 Chapter Meeting just as successful as this year s meeting. Please visit and explore the many resources available to every member of NSAC. Encourage your co-workers and peers to join our chapter. A new member application is available on the homepage of Articles of Interest! Hopefully everyone will benefit either professionally or simply be entertained! My address is: Dlong@ourcoop.com.
